Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a DevOps II in Canada.
This role sits at the core of cloud infrastructure and platform reliability, focusing on building, automating, and scaling highly available systems across modern AWS environments. You will work in a fast-paced engineering setting where infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD automation, and containerized workloads are central to day-to-day operations. The position plays a key role in enabling development teams to deliver software faster and more safely, while maintaining strong system stability and performance. You will contribute to improving observability, incident response, and operational excellence across distributed systems. Collaboration is essential, as you will partner closely with software engineers, product teams, and security stakeholders. This is a highly hands-on role suited for someone passionate about automation, reliability, and continuous improvement in cloud-native environments.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure while driving automation and reliability across complex systems. You will focus on ensuring secure, efficient, and observable platforms that support modern application delivery.
- Architect, implement, and optimize AWS-based infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, EKS) ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK to enable automated and reproducible deployments.
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Argo CD, CircleCI) supporting multiple application stacks and rapid release cycles.
- Operate and scale containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes (primarily Amazon EKS).
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
- Manage cloud security practices including IAM configuration, encryption, network segmentation, and compliance alignment.
- Support database infrastructure (Amazon RDS) including tuning, scaling, backups, and high availability strategies.
- Configure networking and edge security solutions such as Cloudflare for performance and protection.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment workflows, reliability, and operational documentation.
This position requires strong hands-on experience in DevOps or infrastructure engineering with a deep understanding of cloud-native systems, automation practices, and operational reliability.
- 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
- Strong expertise in AWS services including EC2, EKS, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
- Proven experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Solid experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tools.
- Strong scripting ability in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Experience managing relational databases such as Amazon RDS with performance tuning and scaling knowledge.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (subnetting, routing, security groups, NACLs) and cloud security best practices.
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and work independently in remote environments.
- Competitive salary and performance-based compensation
- Comprehensive health, dental, and wellness benefits
- Paid time off, holidays, and extended leave options for work-life balance
- Flexible work culture supporting remote collaboration
- Professional development, mentorship, and career growth opportunities
- Employee recognition programs and engagement initiatives
- Inclusive environment with employee resource groups and community involvement programs
- Access to learning resources and technical training opportunities
