Since 2015, Nevada Behavioral Health Systems (NBH) has been providing mental health and substance abuse services to residents across Nevada. By collaborating with a diverse network of experienced behavioral healthcare providers, we have built a community-based care system that offers members personalized options tailored to their individual needs. In 2023, we rebranded as NovumHealth with the expansion of our services in Arizona, California, and Utah.
Position: Director of Clinical Operations
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah – Onsite (This role is not eligible for Remote or Hybrid)
Starting Salary Range: $120,000
The starting salary range for this role is a reasonable estimate, with a goal to pay a competitive market salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education and certification, skills, and internal pay equity.
What’s the role?
As a Utah Director of Clinical Operations at NovumHealth, your primary purpose is to provide strategic leadership and oversight of all clinical operations in Northern Utah including Salt Lake City and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for optimizing clinical processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and driving operational excellence in healthcare services. Your strong leadership, clinical expertise, and business acumen will play a vital role in advancing the organization's mission to provide exceptional healthcare to the communities we serve.
What you’ll need to start:
A minimum 5 years of experience in clinical leadership roles and administration
with thorough understanding of Utah healthcare regulations.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
A master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
State licensure as a mental health professional (e.g., Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist) is required. Additional certifications in crisis intervention, drug and alcohol counseling, or trauma-informed care are preferred.
Must pass drug screening and background check in order to start employment with Novum Health.
Must be willing to receive vaccinations in accordance with hospital and state requirements.
What you’ll do:
Develop and implement clinical strategies to improve patient outcomes and operational performance.
Provide clinical oversight for our core outpatient service providers, ensuring the highest standard of care.
Monitor and provide analysis of key performance metrics to identify performance and areas for continuous improvement.
Provide clinical supervision, training and professional development for internal staff, focused on ensuring services delivered with highest quality and in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations.
Provide direct supervision to care coordinators, particularly those managing patients requiring intensive case management in outpatient settings.
Collaborate with internal and external clinical providers to coordinate seamless patient transitions from intensive inpatient and residential services to outpatient care, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication throughout the process.
Lead the creation and expansion of outpatient services and programs, focusing on utilizing empirically validated interventions to meet community needs.
Assist in growing our outpatient network, fostering partnerships, and expanding services.
Provide outpatient care as needed, maintaining a hands-on approach.
Provide oversight and supervision of mobile teams, ensuring timely and clinically sound assessment and disposition planning for individuals in crisis
Additional Duties as assigned.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Exceptional communication skills, capable of navigating sensitive or stressful situations with resilience.

Sensitivity and inclusivity towards diverse social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
Adaptability in handling interruptions and multitasking effectively.

Previous experience in behavioral health or healthcare environments.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical operations management or a related leadership role, with at least 1 year in a people management role.
Strong knowledge of operational principles, practices, and methodologies.
Experience in developing and implementing operational strategies and process improvement initiatives.
