In this role, you will help build and scale a newly established portfolio management function focused on renewable energy tax equity and structured investments. You will be responsible for overseeing post-close investment performance, funding processes, and ongoing sponsor and investor engagement across a growing portfolio. Operating at the intersection of finance, energy, and technology, you will help design the systems, workflows, and reporting frameworks that enable scalable portfolio oversight. The position blends hands-on investment management with strategic process design in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You will collaborate closely with Finance, Legal, and Investments teams while also engaging external partners and institutional stakeholders. This is a highly visible role with direct impact on portfolio performance and organizational infrastructure.
In this role, you will support the full lifecycle of portfolio management for tax equity and preferred equity investments, ensuring strong performance tracking, effective governance, and seamless coordination across stakeholders. You will play a key role in building scalable processes and systems while actively managing post-close execution, investor communications, and portfolio risk monitoring.
- Help design and scale the portfolio management framework for tax equity and preferred equity investments
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and investment teams on funding schedules, structuring, and post-close execution
- Monitor portfolio performance against underwriting assumptions across financial, tax, and operational metrics
- Identify, analyze, and escalate risks, variances, and performance issues within the portfolio
- Manage consents, amendments, restructurings, and other post-closing investment actions
- Support investor, sponsor, and board reporting with clear and accurate portfolio insights
- Contribute to the development of monitoring tools, workflows, and AI-enabled reporting systems
- Ensure compliance with partnership agreements, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
- Support strategic discussions around portfolio optimization, exits, and secondary market opportunities
- Help establish best practices, playbooks, and scalable operating procedures for portfolio management
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in renewable energy finance, structured products, or asset management, along with the ability to manage complex investment portfolios and build scalable processes. You are highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-moving, technology-enabled environment with institutional stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Environmental Studies, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy finance, structured finance, asset management, or project finance
- Strong understanding of tax equity, preferred equity structures, and partnership flip models
- Experience managing complex investment portfolios, including amendments, restructurings, and consent processes
- Background in investment banking, project finance, or structured credit is strongly preferred
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel and familiarity with SQL, Python, or similar tools
- Experience preparing investor, management, or board-level reporting
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage sponsors, investors, and internal stakeholders
- Comfort working with portfolio systems, data tools, and AI-enabled workflows
- FINRA SIE and Series 79 required or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Competitive total cash compensation in the $200,000–$300,000 range, plus bonus eligibility
