Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
Level 1:
- Verify part counts against work order.
- Identify defects in workmanship regarding finishes, physical damage, and part identification.
- Meet Orion safety and quality system requirements Maintain 6S and Lean manufacturing best practices.
- Utilize ERP system to document work movement. Epicor and Paylocity.
- Process work within performance and delivery requirements:
- Meet established productivity standards.
- Follow communicated job priority instructions.
- Communicate production delays and problems to appropriate supervision.
- Support all members of the Manufacturing and Orion team fully.
- Participate in team and company meetings.
- Model proper work ethics, behaviors, hygiene, and dress.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Read and understand work order/Job Traveler
- Layout parts for painting and identify appropriately.
- Maintain flow of department including monitoring jobs to come out of oven when cure is complete.
- Separate, identify, and move jobs to appropriate job work queues after prep is completed.
Level 2: Accomplishes all duties and responsibilities of level 1 plus:
- Instruct and mentor Program Participants.
- Provide immediate feedback to Program Participants on critical performance.
- Restock supplies to meet min/max quantities.
- Understand current flow of production parts and how to group and separate accordingly.
- Know proper setup of production layout and correct preparation of production parts per specifications including taping parts for paint layout.
- Verify parts meet the proper specifications including thickness, appearance, and overall quality using the appropriate tools including a Permascope that has been calibrated using specific shims.
Level 3 – Accomplishes all duties and responsibilities of level 1 and 2 plus:
- Maintain inspection authority to buy off part identification operation on the work orders.
- Participate in safety and quality investigations and recommends corrective action.
- Ensure all Finish Cell testing within the Paint Cell is completed with a passing score.
- Understand proper documentation and ability to complete work instructions as needed to meet the proper customer specifications.
- Maintain inventory and shelf life of supplies by periodic inventory counts and completes purchase requisitions to meet demand.
- Navigate and understand customer specifications and work instructions.
- Possess knowledge of spray equipment; perform maintenance and rebuilding as necessary.
- Mix touch up paint kits, maintaining proper identification and labeling.

Requirements:Qualifications:
Level 1
- Previous experience with paint application desired.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Customer service skills; able to relate well to all internal and external customers.
- Must have a high level of attention to detail.
Level 2 – All qualifications of Level 1 plus:
- Two plus years’ experience in aerospace finishing.
- Ability to independently mix and apply aerospace primers.
- Ability to independently operate painting equipment.
- Experience with aerospace finishing specifications (i.e., BAC specifications).
Level 3 – All qualifications of Levels 1 and 2 plus:
- Five plus years’ experience in aerospace finishing.
- Ability to independently mix and apply all primers and topcoats.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of aerospace finishing specifications.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of PSCA requirements for the paint booth, as well as fire and safety requirements.
- Experience developing tooling and production processes.

- Consistent exposure to manufacturing shop floor, requiring use of Safety Glasses.
- Consistent exposure to excess noise levels, occasionally requiring the use of Hearing Protection.
