Epic Data Conversion Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Epic Data Conversion Engineer based in the United States.

This role focuses on leading complex healthcare data migration initiatives within Epic environments, supporting critical system transformation efforts in clinical and operational settings. You will be responsible for driving end-to-end (E2E) data conversion activities, ensuring accurate extraction, mapping, transformation, and loading of legacy Epic data into new systems. The position requires deep technical expertise in Epic Bridges and strong familiarity with healthcare interoperability tools such as InterSystems Ensemble. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define scope, resolve data mapping challenges, and ensure data integrity throughout migration cycles. This is a highly technical and impact-driven role where precision, problem-solving, and healthcare data expertise are essential. The environment is collaborative and fast-paced, with a strong focus on successful system modernization and clinical data continuity. It is fully remote and suited for professionals experienced in large-scale Epic transformation programs.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will lead and execute complex healthcare data conversion efforts within Epic ecosystems, ensuring accurate and reliable migration of clinical and operational data. Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading discovery, scoping, and execution phases of end-to-end Epic data conversion projects
  • Extracting, mapping, transforming, loading, and validating historical data from legacy Epic systems into new environments
  • Utilizing Epic Bridges to support structured and compliant data migration workflows
  • Leveraging InterSystems Ensemble to facilitate integration and seamless data transformation processes
  • Collaborating with technical and functional teams to resolve complex data mapping and conversion challenges
  • Validating data accuracy and completeness across migrated datasets, including clinical and operational records
  • Supporting project teams with a proactive, solution-oriented approach throughout the conversion lifecycle
Requirements:

This role requires deep technical expertise in Epic data conversion and healthcare integration systems, along with strong analytical and leadership capabilities. Ideal candidates should have:

  • Epic Bridges Certification with extensive hands-on experience in data migration projects
  • Proven track record of successful end-to-end (E2E) Epic-to-Epic data conversions
  • Strong working knowledge of InterSystems Ensemble for integration and transformation workflows
  • Experience leading scoping, discovery, and execution phases of complex data conversion initiatives
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and clinical stakeholder groups
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset
  • Experience working in healthcare IT environments is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with InterSystems Caché development is a plus
  • Experience handling clinical datasets such as notes, imaging data, or MQSA-related data is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills and ability to operate independently in remote project settings
