This leadership role sits at the center of digital transformation within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, driving the adoption of advanced design technologies across architecture, engineering, and construction workflows. You will lead a specialized team focused on improving how digital tools, standards, and processes are defined, deployed, and scaled across large infrastructure and civil engineering projects. The role blends technical expertise, people leadership, and strategic thinking to modernize design practices and enable more efficient, consistent, and high-quality project delivery. You will work closely with engineering disciplines, digital engineering leaders, and project teams to translate complex operational needs into practical digital solutions. A key part of your impact will be establishing best practices, training frameworks, and governance models that elevate design capabilities across the organization. This is a highly collaborative role where innovation, continuous improvement, and cross-functional influence are essential to success.
- Lead the Design Practice team, providing direction, mentorship, and performance management to ensure strong delivery and professional growth.
- Develop and maintain standards, workflows, and best practices for digital design tools and platforms across AEC disciplines.
- Drive the implementation and adoption of advanced design technologies, including Autodesk and Bentley applications, across project teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, digital, and project delivery teams to translate business needs into practical digital design solutions.
- Establish training programs, documentation, and enablement resources to support consistent use of design technologies.
- Oversee the integration of digital tools into design workflows, ensuring alignment with broader digital engineering strategies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability in design processes.
- Present and communicate design practice strategies to internal stakeholders and contribute to cross-functional initiatives and business development efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, design technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience in design technologies, digital engineering, or AEC design practice, including at least 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong expertise in civil engineering or infrastructure design workflows, including tools such as Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or similar platforms.
- Deep understanding of digital design standards, workflows, and implementation across large engineering organizations.
- Proven experience leading teams, including mentoring, performance management, and cross-functional coordination.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to develop scalable processes, documentation, and training programs that drive adoption of new technologies.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to introduce innovative solutions and improve existing workflows.
- Familiarity with computational or low-code/no-code design tools is a plus.
