Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Stress Analyst based in the United States.
This is a highly technical engineering role focused on structural integrity and performance analysis of complex aerospace systems. You will contribute to the design and validation of spacecraft structures and mechanisms through advanced stress, fatigue, and fracture analysis. The role plays a critical part in ensuring safety, reliability, and performance optimization of mission-critical hardware. You will work closely with design and systems engineering teams to evaluate and refine structural models throughout the development lifecycle. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on precision, modeling accuracy, and engineering excellence. Your work will directly influence spacecraft performance, mass efficiency, and mission success across cutting-edge space programs.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and classical stress analysis on spacecraft structures and mechanical systems.
- Develop, update, and maintain structural models using NASTRAN/FEMAP and integrate them into system-level finite element models.
- Support design teams by providing rapid stress analysis feedback to guide structural design decisions and maturation.
- Conduct fatigue, fracture, and load case analyses to ensure structural integrity across mission scenarios.
- Perform part sizing, mass optimization studies, and assess structural efficiency for spacecraft components.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for stress analysis findings and design recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on iterative design improvements to achieve high-performance, low-mass solutions.
- Support testing, model correlation, and verification activities to validate analytical results against physical testing.
- Ensure all modeling and analysis activities comply with established engineering and quality standards.
- 9+ years of experience in structural or stress analysis, preferably in aerospace or spacecraft environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience with NASTRAN and FEMAP for finite element modeling and analysis.
- Proven experience performing stress analysis on spacecraft structures or equivalent complex systems.
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics, load paths, fatigue, and fracture mechanics.
- Ability to derive and apply load cases for subsystem and system-level analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and engineering rigor.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly through reports and presentations.
- US Citizenship is required due to federal program requirements.
- Competitive compensation aligned with experience and expertise
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
- Opportunities to work on high-impact aerospace and national security programs
- Long-term career growth in advanced engineering and space systems development
- Exposure to cutting-edge spacecraft design and analysis technologies
- Stable, mission-driven work environment supporting federal and space initiatives
- Professional development opportunities and technical skill advancement
- Standard federal contractor benefits package with additional organizational perks.
