This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and hands-on content professional to shape brand visibility across traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered discovery platforms. In this role, you will lead content strategy, editorial planning, SEO, and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) initiatives that drive audience engagement and business growth. Working within a collaborative, fast-paced environment, you will combine creative storytelling with technical optimization to ensure content performs across multiple digital channels. The position offers significant ownership over content development, search strategy, and editorial quality while partnering with subject matter experts, agencies, and cross-functional teams. Ideal candidates are equally passionate about exceptional writing, data-driven decision-making, and staying ahead of evolving search and AI trends.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the execution of content, SEO, and AEO strategies across websites, blogs, marketplaces, and supporting digital channels to maximize organic visibility and audience engagement.
  • Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, content gap assessments, and technical audits to identify growth opportunities and improve search performance.
  • Develop strategies that address evolving search behaviors, including AI-generated results, answer engines, AI Overviews, and zero-click search experiences.
  • Build and optimize content frameworks designed to improve discoverability and citation opportunities across AI-powered platforms and search ecosystems.
  • Own and manage the editorial calendar while creating, editing, and optimizing a wide range of content, including blog articles, landing pages, product descriptions, educational resources, and marketplace content.
  • Maintain editorial excellence through fact-checking, proofreading, compliance reviews, and consistent brand voice management across all published materials.
  • Manage freelance writers and external partners, providing direction, feedback, and quality control to ensure high editorial standards.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to produce accurate, credible, and engaging content.
  • Support technical optimization initiatives including schema markup, structured data implementation, metadata management, image optimization, internal linking strategies, and site architecture improvements.
  • Manage product feed optimization and contribute to ongoing improvements in content performance, reporting, and search visibility.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to support ongoing content and growth strategies.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial management, SEO, digital publishing, or related disciplines.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills with the ability to create polished, audience-focused content across multiple formats.
  • Strong expertise in modern SEO practices, including technical SEO, content optimization, keyword strategy, and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO).
  • Deep understanding of evolving search technologies, including AI-generated search experiences, large language models, and AI-powered answer platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Search Console, Google Merchant Center, and structured data implementation.
  • Working knowledge of content management and e-commerce platforms such as Shopify and WordPress.
  • Basic HTML knowledge and familiarity with website optimization best practices.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Proven project management skills with experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, freelancers, agencies, and competing deadlines.
  • Ability to balance creativity with data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working across marketing, technical, regulatory, and business teams.
  • Experience within direct-to-consumer, e-commerce, health, wellness, pet care, or related industries is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred; advanced degrees are a plus.

Benefits

  • Fully remote work environment offering flexibility and autonomy.
  • Opportunity to shape content strategy within a rapidly evolving digital and AI search landscape.
  • High-impact role with significant ownership and visibility across the organization.
  • Collaborative and mission-driven culture focused on innovation, quality, and results.
  • Professional development opportunities and exposure to cutting-edge SEO and AEO practices.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with industry experts, agency partners, and leadership teams.
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Potential eligibility for healthcare coverage, retirement benefits, paid time off, and additional company-sponsored programs.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to equal opportunity and professional growth.
