The Opportunity

Lesley University always welcomes applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach upcoming classes in our Humanities programs at the undergraduate level. These programs include classes in Communications, Creative Writing, English, History, Public Speaking, and language classes such as Spanish, Portuguese, and American Sign Language. Courses include a range of foundational, general education, and major-level classes. Classes in this department are either taught in-person or remotely depending on the specific course.

Lesley University hires Adjunct Faculty on a regular cadence to support our Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. By applying to an Evergreen position, your materials will remain on file and be reviewed on an as-needed basis throughout the upcoming semesters. As such, you will be put into consideration for current and future adjunct positions within the Humanities subject area. The specific course hired for is subject to change depending on semester, course catalog, and department needs.

Qualities & Capabilities

A successful candidate will have:

  • A Master's degree in Communications, Creative Writing, English, History, or related field (required); PhD or terminal degree (preferred)

  • A Master's degree in Spanish, Portuguese, or ASL is required for language courses

  • Successful experience teaching in the particular discipline at the undergraduate level

  • Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning with an emphasis on student engagement
