We are currently seeking a skilled Weld Technician to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have welding experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality products in a safe and efficient environment.
Position SummaryThe Weld Technician is responsible for setting up and operating welding equipment, producing and inspecting welded assemblies, and supporting fabrication and assembly operations while meeting quality, safety, and productivity standards. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products meet customer specifications and company quality requirements.
ScheduleDay Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Overtime may be required based on production schedules and customer demand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Set up and operate welding equipment qualified to operate, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and setup documentation.
- Perform MIG welding, resistance welding, spot welding, fabrication, assembly, finishing, and related manufacturing processes.
- Produce and inspect products to meet or exceed production, quality, and customer requirements while minimizing scrap and rework.
- Verify that all required documentation, tooling, safety equipment, and work instructions are available and accurate before beginning production.
- Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, weld quality, alignment, surface finish, and overall workmanship.
- Identify and report defective materials, weld defects, assembly errors, equipment issues, or nonconforming products.
- Contain defective components and stop production when necessary to prevent quality issues and unnecessary rework.
- Operate finishing equipment including grinders, drill presses, tapping machines, and related fabrication equipment.
- Transport materials and finished products to designated locations using approved material handling equipment.
- Complete production reporting, work order transactions, and time reporting accurately within company systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- 1–3 years of welding and manufacturing experience.
- Experience with MIG welding and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to use measuring and inspection tools.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with resistance welding systems and spot welding equipment.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Overhead crane certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience with ERP systems and production reporting software.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Basic understanding of metallurgy and welding processes.
- MIG welder setup and operation.
- Resistance welding system setup and operation.
- Blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Basic quality control and inspection techniques.
- Control of nonconforming material and deviation processes.
- Product identification and labeling procedures.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Use of grinders, drill presses, tapping machines, and related equipment.
- Time management and production scheduling awareness.

- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
