Job Description

Position Description:

The Credit Risk Management Department plays a vital role in ensuring that KS StateBank properly identifies, measures, monitors and mitigates the potential for financial losses resulting from a borrower's failure to repay a loan or meet other contractual obligations.

A Commercial Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating and analyzing the creditworthiness of potential and existing commercial loan clients. This role involves analyzing financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and other financial information to assess the financial health and repayment ability of applicants. The Commercial Credit Analyst will work closely with the Commercial Credit Analyst – Senior Vice President to provide well-informed lending recommendations to Executive Loan Officers and Loan Committee.

We currently have a full-time position available Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM, working 40 hours per week.

Wages start at $45,000 to 50,000 annually based off of experience. Employee benefits include 401k with matching contributions, health, dental and vision insurance and paid time off including 11 paid federal holidays.

Job Responsibilities:
• Underwrite complex commercial credit requests in a timely fashion. Analyzing factors such as income growth, margins, trends, quality of management, market shares, industry risks, and collateral assessment.
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and other financial data to determine the creditworthiness and risk level of a borrower
• Recommend risk rating and loan decision based on analyses completed
• Prepare comprehensive and objective summary of the loan request, analysis, and risk factors to be used by approving Officers and/or Loan Committee
• Perform internal review of completed real estate appraisals or facilitate third party review as required. Ensure appraisals are in compliance with Bank policies and procedures as well as applicable State and Federal regulations.
• Maintain and monitor borrowing base certificates on C&I lines of credit secured by accounts receivable and/or inventory
• Work with lenders, borrowers and/or other sources to obtain current financial statements, tax returns, borrowing base certificates and other information from customers as needed
• Verify and approve draw requests on construction lines of credit to ensure that all required documentation has been provided and that spending is within the allocated budget and in alignment with work complete
• Prepare loan portfolio reports and analyses for the use of various parties including Bank management, auditors, and regulators. The reports will be used to assess overall health and performance of the portfolio, identify risks, take corrective action, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
• Assist with performing annual review of relationships within the commercial loan portfolio as needed
• Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• High School Graduate or GED required; Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics or a related field is preferred
• Minimum of two years of prior banking experience preferred
• Previous experience in commercial lending, underwriting, loan review, or a related banking role is required
• Strong ability to analyze financial information, interpret data, and perform calculations like cash flow analysis
• Proficiency with financial software, loan servicing systems, and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to report findings and collaborate with colleagues
• Understanding of Bank loan policy, commercial lending regulations, risk rating fundamentals, loan review procedures, and loan documentation requirements
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team, a professional attitude, and attention to detail are important for success. The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize meeting deadlines.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Able to view a computer screen for long periods of time
• Must be able to speak and listen clearly both in person and on the phone
• Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy
• This job may require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently
