Job Description

Job Title: Ground Support Equipment & Facilities Assistant

Reports to: Director of Maintenance

Classification: Non-Exempt

Time Commitment: Full-time

Position Summary

The Ground Support Equipment & Facilities Assistant supports daily company operations by maintaining ground support equipment, vehicles, shop areas, hangars, offices, and surrounding facility areas in a clean, orderly, and serviceable condition. This position is primarily focused on facility upkeep, ground support equipment care, local driving, and general operational support.

Essential Functions

• Support the routine care, inspection, cleaning, and basic upkeep of ground support equipment, vehicles, tools, and shop equipment.

• Maintain hangar, shop, office, vehicle, equipment, and grounds areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, common-area cleaning, and supply restocking.

• Assist with aircraft movement in and out of the hangar and provide refueling support when directed and supervised.

• Perform local driving, errands, pickups, and deliveries for personnel, parts, tools, equipment, documents, supplies, and other company-related needs.

• Operate company vehicles, tools, equipment, and ground support equipment in accordance with company procedures.

• Report unsafe conditions, equipment discrepancies, facility concerns, vehicle issues, and maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor.

• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and supervisory direction at all times.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship.

• Ability to pass a background check.

• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and ability to perform local driving, errands, and transportation duties as needed. Must comply with company vehicle policies.

• Ability to follow direction, communicate clearly, work respectfully with others, and complete assigned tasks safely and reliably.

• Dependable, punctual, and willing to support facility upkeep, GSE care, driving, custodial duties, shop support, and other operational tasks as assigned.

Work Environment

This position works in and around aircraft hangars, shop areas, offices, vehicles, and airport operating areas. Daily assignments may vary based on operational and facility needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including cold, extreme heat, and inclement weather.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical work for extended periods.

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

• Ability to work in confined spaces when required.

• Ability to work safely around aircraft, vehicles, fuel, chemicals, tools, and shop equipment.
