Position Overview

This is a dual role that will work along side the Barista team in the client cafe as well as supporting the onsite Snack & Drink attendants team as needed with restocking, making bulk coffee and other responsibilities, etc.

This role requires a friendly attitude, with a keen sense of urgency, speed and attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role requires the physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods, and to lift items repetitively throughout the shift.

The Pantry aka Workplace Attendant is a client-facing role that will work directly at an assigned client site. This position is in a high-volume, fun and growing office food environment, and will require the ability to respond quickly and make decisions on the fly based on clients needs. Attendants are responsible for maintaining the organization and cleanliness of micro kitchens and pantries in client office spaces aka Workplace. They will assist clients onsite daily with needs that are tailored for their individual offices; therefore, responsibilities may vary by client.

Areas of service may include, all lunch service areas, break rooms, micro-kitchens, buffet lines, snack and beverage displays, etc. This role may also be responsible for stocking and maintaining various other supplies and inventory within client spaces; such as, storage rooms and sometimes support with re-stocking bathroom supplies.

Additionally this role will support with the onsite coffee cart in a Barista role as needed. This will combine crafting a variety of beverages with providing excellent customer service. Barista will be expected to greet clients promptly, while taking orders and handling payments. Additionally they will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, servicing and operating equipment, and POS systems.

Our ideal Barista will posses excellent hospitality and service skills to be able to build and maintain rapport within the client office community. They will be well versed to follow all FIFO and food safety rules, while providing a high quality product at all times. Additionally they will have proficiency with espresso machines, milk frothing, pouring techniques, and various other brewing methods, with the skills to make a variety of elevated craft beverages including latte art.

NOTE: this is a part time position. Although full time is possible, it is not guaranteed.

Responsibilities

Attendant Responsibilities

  • Receive all snack and drink deliveries
  • Stock snacks and drinks throughout the day using FIFO methods
  • Tidy, clean and sanitize all kitchen areas
  • Help with signage for all offerings
  • Conduct inventory of snacks and drinks and put in orders with HQ to replenish inventory as needed
  • Maintain and conduct the monthly smallwares inventory count.
  • Assist with maintaining pars for all snacks & drinks offerings
  • Monitor proper functioning of and conduct routine maintenance of any onsite kitchen equipment
  • Be a friendly face and host within all office kitchen areas
  • Help guests, answer questions and fulfill customer requests with delightful hospitality
  • Monitor time and temperature of food for safety/sanitation purposes
  • Clean and maintain the required spaces of the client site in accordance with all safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs repetitively throughout the 6-8 hours shift
  • Wash, dry, stock and maintain dishes, serving utensils and other kitchen equipment as directed.

Barista Responsibilities (as needed)

  • Brew bulk coffee each morning and replenish throughout the day as needed on various floors/areas of client office
  • Setup and breakdown of coffee bar and all other points of service
  • Helps uphold Just Fares’ hospitality standards
  • Restocking and organizing all coffee, condiments, and other snacks and beverages as related to the Coffee Bar.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work/service environment
  • Maintains inventory and pars of all equipment, supplies and coffee
  • Assist with maintaining equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs as needed. (Supports the Assistant Manager & Director of Snacks & Drinks)
  • Light equipment cleaning and maintenance including coffee brewers and espresso machines and kegerators.
  • Engages with all staff (Client and Just Fare) and is a positive and friendly face to those getting drinks at the Cafe
  • Menu & Drink Formulation (as needed)
  • Taking payment from customers (if needed), including POS transactions and cash handling

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in a Cafe or Coffee bar, with latte art skills!
  • 2+ years experience in a pantry/attendant role or similar field and/or customer service environment with a passion for food and people
  • Experience in hospitality with a passion for food & people
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, communication & patience
  • Attendance and punctuality is required with schedule flexibility determined by client location needs
  • Ability to work independently, be a self-sufficient problem solver and make sound decisions on-the-fly
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs alone, repetitively throughout the 6-8 hours shift
  • Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
  • Basic Food Handler Certification
  • Basic mathematical skills and cash handling
  • Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems
  • Smartphone will be needed for daily communications on Slack and for managing Timecards and scheduling, etc.
  • Preferred: Basic computer skills (docs, spreadsheets, google docs, etc.)
  • Preferred: Good knowledge of local products, producers and farms
  • Experience working a coffee cart a plus!

Schedule & Expectations

Typical schedules are Monday through Friday with hours dependent on the service. You are responsible for managing your schedule, based on your shift availability, with your supervisor.

Shift details: Schedule will generally be Monday to Thursday with Fridays as needed. Shift start times may vary between 6am - 11am. Full availability preferred, with days fluctuating depending on client and coverage needs.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $21 to 23/hourly DOE. Competitive wages in an equitable tiered pay structure for all positions. Non-Negotiable. No tips.
