The Branch Manager enhances customer and co-worker experiences by leading a high-performing, customer-focused team through effective coaching, clear communication, and operational excellence of their assigned branch. The Branch Manager also ensures smooth and safe operations by aligning resources, optimizing processes, and fostering strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure all duties and responsibilities are completed as per Next’s Standard Operating Procedures:
Leadership and People Management:- Lead and manage the onboarding and ongoing development of the Branch team
- Implement internal succession by identifying and developing high-potential team members
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by communicating clear expectations, listening to the team and celebrating the achievement of goals and values
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and coaching as needed
- Working closely with HR, address performance issues promptly and implement corrective actions
- Conduct performance reviews for all direct reports
- Foster strong relationships with primary customers and suppliers to provide exceptional service that is consistent with Next’s values, resolving any issues or challenges, and consistently reviewing and identifying opportunities to drive business growth
- Respond to unsatisfied customers to diffuse confrontational situations with a win-win solution in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain current and relevant product knowledge to assist and educate customers to make the best decisions based on their needs
- Identify high moving products and ensure inventory levels are maintained resulting in quick turnaround service for customer
- Oversee all branch operations, including facility maintenance, receiving, picking, replenishment, loading and delivery
- Ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and on time
- Monitor daily branch activities and reports to ensure productivity targets are met
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for the team
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet operational demands and customer needs
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and efficient use of resources
- Coordinate inventory processes and ensure effective inventory management practices (eg. Cycle counts and annual inventory)
- Develop and implement strategies to improve branch operations and efficiency
- Identify areas for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance branch performance
- Stay updated with internal reports, industry trends and best practices to ensure continuous improvement
- Maintain clear and effective communication with customers, vendors, the branch team, management, and other departments
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Branch Coordinator and Finance
- Address any issues or concerns raised by customers or internal stakeholders

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
- Keen attention to detail, to ensure accuracy in all tasks
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Products (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of plumbing or hydronic supplies is an asset
- Basic ability to create, plan, track and manage budgets
- Minimum 2 years of previous management/ leadership experience
- High School or equivalent
- Valid Drivers License
- MHE Certification is required or the ability to obtain within three months of employment is an asset
- Previous experience in plumbing or wholesale environments is an asset
- This position is required to work weekends or after regular business hours as required
- This position involves standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods
- Position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively
