Job Description

Senior Lead, Partnerships (Acquisition)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Lead, Partnerships (Acquisition) based in Canada.

Join a fast-growing financial technology environment focused on making financial services more accessible, intuitive, and customer-centric. As Senior Lead, Partnerships (Acquisition), you will drive customer growth by building and scaling strategic partnerships across digital and real-world channels. You will own the full partnership lifecycle, from sourcing and commercial negotiations to activation, performance measurement, and optimization. Your work will directly contribute to acquiring new funded clients, increasing deposits, and expanding business banking relationships. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a commercially minded leader who thrives in building new growth channels from the ground up. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will turn innovative partnerships and campaigns into measurable business results.

Accountabilities
  • Develop strategic acquisition partnerships: Identify, source, negotiate, and activate partnerships that generate new customers and support business growth across digital and in-person channels.
  • Drive partner-led marketing campaigns: Secure partner funding and co-marketing opportunities, coordinate acquisition campaigns, and identify complementary partners to support targeted promotional initiatives.
  • Build referral channels for business banking: Own the end-to-end development of referral partnerships, from prospecting and signing partners to driving new business clients and deposit growth.
  • Lead commercial negotiations: Manage negotiations from initial outreach through contract execution, establishing mutually beneficial agreements that align with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Own acquisition performance: Set and monitor targets for new funded clients, deposits, referral channel performance, campaign results, sponsorship reach, and return on investment.
  • Activate partnerships cross-functionally: Collaborate with Growth, Brand, Product Marketing, and Business Banking Product teams to deliver effective activations and ensure partnerships contribute to broader growth objectives.
  • Measure and optimize results: Use acquisition funnels, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and attribution data to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and improve commercial outcomes.
  • Build new growth opportunities: Establish scalable partnership strategies and develop innovative acquisition channels across commercial, technology, community, and experiential marketing ecosystems.
Requirements
  • Relevant professional experience: 7–10 years of experience in partnerships, business development, growth, or related commercial roles, ideally within banking, financial services, technology, or other customer-focused industries.
  • Commercial negotiation expertise: A strong track record of negotiating commercial agreements, securing strategic partnerships, and translating relationships into measurable acquisition and revenue outcomes.
  • Customer acquisition mindset: Demonstrated experience driving customer growth through partnerships and campaigns, with a clear understanding of acquisition funnels and the factors that influence conversion.
  • Referral and channel partnerships: Experience building or managing referral networks and channel partnerships that generate attributable business results.
  • Analytical and financial skills: Strong commercial judgment and comfort working with CAC, LTV, attribution models, campaign performance metrics, and return-on-investment analysis.
  • Canadian market network: An established network across relevant commercial, technology, and community ecosystems in Canada; connections in the United States are an advantage.
  • Entrepreneurial execution: A builder's mindset, with experience developing initiatives from scratch, taking ownership of outcomes, moving quickly, and identifying opportunities in ambiguous environments.
  • Communication and collaboration: Strong relationship-building, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and external partners.
  • Preferred qualifications: Experience in experiential or brand marketing, including in-person customer acquisition campaigns and relationships with agencies or sponsorship rights holders, is an asset. Business banking, small and medium-sized business (SMB) acquisition, and integrated product referral partnerships are also advantageous.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation: Annual base salary ranging from CA$152,000 to CA$190,000, depending on skills, experience, and role level. Exceptional candidates may be considered above the stated range.
  • Equity compensation: Eligibility for long-term equity compensation as part of the overall rewards package.
  • Health and life insurance: Access to comprehensive health benefits and life insurance.
  • Retirement savings: Access to long-term group savings plans with employer matching through the company's business offering.
  • Paid time off: 20 vacation days, four wellness days, and unlimited sick and mental health days per year, subject to role-specific eligibility.
  • Remote work flexibility: The opportunity to work outside Canada for up to 90 days per year through a work-away program, subject to eligibility.
  • Collaborative environment: Work alongside talented, curious, and ambitious colleagues in a technology-driven organization that values innovation, thoughtful execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Inclusive culture: Access to employee resource groups, including communities supporting 2SLGBTQ+ employees, women, and Black employees.
  • Growth and development: Opportunities to build new acquisition channels, influence commercial strategy, and make a measurable impact on business growth.
