Job Summary:

The Chiropractic Assistant (CA) is responsible for rendering rehab services and assisting the clinical staff with patient care; as well as assisting the Front Office Manager with administrative duties.

Job Responsibilities:

• Rehab Services
• Administer modality treatments (heat, ice, electrical stimulation, etc.).
• Administer traction using intermittent and static traction equipment.
• Using HEP2GO create, upload, and print patient exercise plans.
• Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients with exercises, functional activities, stretching and all physiotherapies.
• Compile and evaluate data on patients' responses and progress report to the Chiropractor.
• Document rehab services in the EMR and on the travel card.
• Dispense DMEs.
• Clinical Services (as trained and under supervision of Doctor of Chiropractic)
• Perform new patient evaluations / examinations.
• Take X-Rays.
• Perform Report of Findings (ROF).
• Administrative
• Manage flow of patients.
• Respect and maintain privacy of patients.
• Complete OSHA Logs daily.
• Take inventory of DME equipment and PT and chiropractor supplies (stim pads, face paper, etc.).
• Assist Front Office Manager with administrative duties, such as answering phones, making appointments, checking patients in and out, collecting payments. Pull patient cards as needed for AM and PM shift.
• Participate in staff meetings and scheduled company meetings.
• Clean and Organize patient work area/ sanitize equipment.
• Attend clinic and corporate meetings, calls, etc. as requested.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a Chiropractor Assistant or Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Ability to clearly explain procedures, treatment plans, and office policies to patients.
• Ability to understand patient concerns and provide reassurance, especially in cases where they are in pain or anxious about treatment.
• Ability to manage patient appointments, ensuring there are no conflicts, and helping the chiropractor stay on schedule.
• Familiarity with chiropractic treatments, adjustments, and terminology to assist the chiropractor and understand patient needs.
• Familiarity with the various tools used in chiropractic care, such as adjusting tables, ultrasound machines, or electrical stimulation devices.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting small to moderate weights, such as moving boxes of supplies (typically 20-30 pounds) or medical equipment.
• Assisting patients with transferring from one position to another, such as helping them lie down or sit up from a treatment table.
• Bending, Squatting, Reaching.
• Handling Medical Equipment:
• Therapeutic devices (e.g., TENS units, ultrasound machines, or cold/heat packs).
• Adjusting treatment tables or equipment to assist the chiropractor.
• Preparing materials for patient treatments, such as preparing hot/cold packs or assisting with physical therapy exercises.

Work Environment:

The Chiropractic Assistant must maintain a clean and organized work environment. This includes:

• Disinfecting equipment and patient areas between uses.
• Ensuring safety protocols are followed, especially when moving or assisting patients.
