This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Accountant I based in United States.
This role supports core accounting and finance activities within a securities-focused environment, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timely execution. You will contribute to the monthly close process, account reconciliations, journal entries, cash activity, and financial reporting. The position provides broad exposure to general ledger operations, receivables, intercompany accounting, and financial analysis. You will work closely with accounting managers and cross-functional teams to investigate transactions, prepare supporting documentation, and resolve discrepancies. The role also includes assisting with audits, tax reporting, and special accounting projects. It is well suited to an early-career accountant who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to develop their technical accounting skills.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations, analyze monthly account activity, and record related journal entries.
- Prepare cash receipt entries for checks, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
- Prepare revenue recognition journal entries and coordinate with the commissions team on direct cash revenue transactions.
- Perform weekly bank and cash account reconciliations, organize supporting documentation, and research transactions to determine appropriate general ledger coding.
- Assist with accounts receivable activities and prepare receivables reporting for associated business segments.
- Support intercompany account reconciliations, update occupancy cost-sharing allocations, and prepare related journal entries.
- Generate system reports and reconcile inventory positions as part of monthly reporting activities.
- Assist with preparing and filing state and local personal property tax reports.
- Support monthly balance sheet reconciliations by generating NetSuite reports and compiling supporting documentation.
- Assist management with audits, research requests, schedules, and financial reports.
- Complete assigned accounting tasks accurately and within daily and monthly close deadlines.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of financial and organizational information.
- Support broader accounting department objectives and perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least one year of relevant professional accounting experience.
- Basic understanding of the general ledger close process and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy across multiple accounting activities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work productively as part of a team.
- Self-motivated approach with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and consistently support monthly close requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for researching transactions and resolving account discrepancies.
