Position Title: Lab Assistant
Health Ministries Clinic (HMC) | Newton, Kansas
Health Ministries Clinic is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Lab Assistant to join our laboratory team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a mission-driven healthcare organization where your work directly supports quality patient care in our community.
This full-time position offers a 4-day workweek. The regular schedule is 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM or 6:00 PM. On Tuesdays, the workday may extend to 6:30 PM or 7:00 PM when you are scheduled for the Friday-off rotation.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with receiving, labeling, processing, and preparing patient specimens
- Support in-house laboratory testing and reference laboratory send-outs
- Maintain accurate documentation and records
- Assist with laboratory equipment, supplies, and routine maintenance
- Follow established safety, quality, and infection-control procedures
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
- Work closely with laboratory and clinical staff to ensure timely specimen processing
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and efficient laboratory environment
What We’re Looking For
- Previous laboratory, healthcare, or specimen-processing experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow written procedures accurately
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to patient confidentiality, safety, and quality
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
