EXPORT SPECIALIST in San Antonio, Texas at VP Racing Fuels Inc

POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works with distributors/ customers to finalize all orders
• Sales Order Entry.
• Bill of Ladings for Outbound shipments.
• Submits IMO and SDS’s along with Proforma’s to Brokers/Freight forwarders for steam line approvals.
• Coordinates and Schedules loading of all FCL and LCL containers orders.
• Determines and maintains appropriate export classification (Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Schedule B, Export Control Classification Number), country of origin.
• Generates NAFTA certificate issuance.
• Answers export related questions
• Provide quality customer service, over the phone and in person.
• Assist walk-in customers.
• Filing.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
• Back-up for receptionist, answering multi-line phone system.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• 2 years international shipping experience
• Experience in creating documents for international shipments (IMO, SLI, Cert. of Origin, etc…)
• ** MUST be detail oriented, self-motivated, and a self-starter, requiring little direction. **
• Must have good telephone skills and interact well with others.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate orally or in writing with co-workers, departments, customers and vendors.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages.
• With minimal supervision, demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems, interpret, and resolve problems using a variety of instructions or guides received in writing, orally, in diagrams or schedule formats.

PREFERRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Hazardous shipping experience required.
• Familiar with D.O.T guidelines
• Strong Computer skills & basic office functions.
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Inventory management knowledge
• EDI experience

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree(GED); or 2 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Required to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Primarily office environment but may be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes and oils.
