As a Field Application Engineer, you will manage a portfolio of industrial instrumentation products while supporting growth, profitability, and customer success. You will shape product strategies, strengthen manufacturer relationships, and help sales teams turn technical requirements into effective solutions. The role combines product management, technical expertise, supplier collaboration, sales enablement, and market development. You will serve as a subject matter expert for complex industrial applications across diverse end markets. Working cross-functionally, you will also contribute to training, product marketing, and continuous improvement initiatives. This fully remote opportunity is suited to a technically strong professional who can balance strategic planning with hands-on customer and sales support.

• Develop and execute product line strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives and sales initiatives.
• Manage product lifecycles, portfolio positioning, cross-selling opportunities, and expansion strategies for assigned industrial instrumentation products.
• Monitor industry trends, customer requirements, competitive offerings, and market opportunities to inform product positioning and strategy.
• Build and manage relationships with assigned manufacturers and suppliers, including pricing, programs, rebates, marketing funds, and joint business planning.
• Coordinate supplier communication with internal teams and represent the organization at distributor meetings and industry events.
• Partner with field sales teams on customer engagements, joint sales calls, opportunity development, product selection, and application-based solution design.
• Serve as a product subject matter expert for complex instrumentation opportunities and help translate customer needs into effective technical solutions.
• Provide product training, sales resources, guides, and ongoing education to internal sales teams and external customers.
• Develop foundational industrial instrumentation training for new sales team members and strengthen knowledge across core product categories.
• Collaborate with marketing on product campaigns, content, promotional strategies, webinars, trade shows, and other demand-generation activities.
• Support standardized processes for product launches, supplier onboarding, marketing execution, and operational improvements.
• Identify and address product-related performance gaps while contributing to best practices and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Distribution, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience working with industrial instrumentation products or comparable technical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to apply technical product knowledge to real-world customer applications.
• Experience supporting sales organizations through product training, customer engagement, opportunity development, and solution design.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a clear focus on execution and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate across functions and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Knowledge of industrial controls, instrumentation, and sensor technologies, including measurement and inspection sensors, RFID, barcode, safety, LIDAR, vision, thermal, pressure, level, temperature, and flow products.
• Familiarity with industrial verticals such as food and beverage, pulp and paper, water and wastewater, oil and gas, chemical, power, and manufacturing.
• Experience working with major industrial sensor and instrumentation manufacturers and leading automation or instrumentation platforms is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems such as Epicor, Salesforce, Power BI, or Microsoft CRM is preferred.
• Ability to support a broad range of industries, applications, and customer requirements.
