Join a mission-driven organization delivering high-impact energy infrastructure and environmental projects that support the transition to renewable energy and long-term community resilience. In this role, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary teams responsible for securing environmental approvals and permitting for large-scale energy generation and linear infrastructure projects. You will act as a key interface between clients, regulatory agencies, engineering teams, and environmental specialists to ensure projects progress efficiently from planning through execution. This position blends strategic project leadership with hands-on regulatory and permitting expertise in fast-paced, evolving environments. You will play a critical role in defining permitting strategies, managing compliance requirements, and ensuring alignment with project schedules and budgets. Ideal for a seasoned project manager with deep energy and environmental experience, this role offers the opportunity to directly shape essential infrastructure development across the United States.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead end-to-end project management for energy development and linear infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with environmental permitting requirements and regulatory frameworks.
  • Develop and execute permitting strategies, including environmental compliance plans, permit applications, and regulatory documentation.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams including engineering, environmental specialists, land acquisition, and regulatory experts to deliver integrated project outcomes.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring alignment with client expectations and regulatory milestones.
  • Oversee QA/QC of technical deliverables and provide mentorship to improve quality, consistency, and execution across project teams.
  • Engage with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and support permitting and approval processes.
  • Track environmental commitments and ensure proper implementation of permit conditions during construction and project execution phases.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by supporting client relationships and identifying new project opportunities.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex permitting challenges, particularly for energy and linear infrastructure projects on regulated or public lands.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level staff in permitting processes, project management practices, and technical documentation.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental permitting, project management, or energy infrastructure development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Engineering, Planning, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder energy or infrastructure projects with regulatory permitting requirements.
  • Strong understanding of environmental compliance processes, including NEPA and related permitting frameworks.
  • Experience working with public utilities, energy developers, or linear infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large, fast-paced project portfolios.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and coordinating permitting approvals across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project risk while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Business development experience, including client engagement and relationship building, is a strong plus.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for project site visits and client engagements.
Benefits
  • Competitive annual compensation ranging from $100,000 to $180,000, depending on experience and location.
  • Remote-first work environment with flexibility across multiple U.S. locations.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Employee ownership opportunity in a mission-driven organization.
  • Performance-based incentives and potential bonus eligibility.
  • Professional development and mentorship opportunities.
  • Exposure to high-impact renewable energy and infrastructure projects nationwide.
  • Collaborative and innovation-driven culture focused on environmental and community outcomes.
  • Paid time off, holidays, and additional employee wellbeing programs.
