Are you energetic, responsible, and passionate about working with children? Join our Summer Day Camp team as a Unit Counselor and help create an unforgettable camp experience building valuable leadership and professional skills.
As a Unit Counselor, you'll work directly with campers each day, helping them build confidence, make friends, try new activities, and create lasting memories. This is an excellent opportunity for college students, future educators, childcare professionals, and anyone who enjoys mentoring and inspiring young people.

What You'll Do
Supervise and engage campers throughout the camp day.
Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and positive camp community.
Assist in planning and leading daily activities, games, and special events.
Encourage campers to build confidence, independence, and friendships.
Help campers learn outdoor skills and develop an appreciation for nature.
Support group discussions, team-building activities, and camper leadership opportunities.
Assist with maintaining unit cleanliness, organization, and equipment.
Monitor camper safety and promptly report illnesses, injuries, or concerns.
Work closely with Unit Leads and fellow staff members to provide an exceptional camp experience.
Participate in camp-wide activities and special events.
Potential to attend weekly Thursday overnight programs.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old.
Current high school graduate or equivalent required.
Experience working with children in camps, schools, childcare programs, sports, youth groups, or similar settings preferred.
Camp experience is a plus but not required.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and enthusiasm for working with children.
Ability to successfully complete a background check.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and remain active throughout the camp day.
Ability to lift and carry at least 15 pounds.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to navigate uneven outdoor terrain.
Ability to participate in active games, activities, and camp programming.

Dates: June 22 – August 8, 2026
Location: Camp Addisone Boyce
