This role sits at the forefront of securing large-scale, internet-facing applications and APIs in a high-performance digital environment. You will design and implement advanced edge security controls to protect critical systems from DDoS attacks, bot activity, API abuse, and emerging AI-driven threats. The position focuses heavily on leveraging modern cloud and edge platforms, particularly Cloudflare-based security services, to build resilient, scalable protection mechanisms. You will collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and application teams to embed security into every layer of the delivery lifecycle. This is a highly technical and strategic role where you will influence security architecture across global web and API infrastructures. • Design, implement, and manage edge security solutions using platforms such as Cloudflare, including WAF, DDoS protection, bot management, API Shield, and rate limiting.
• Develop and maintain security standards and best practices for CDN usage, SSL/TLS configurations, and internet-facing application protection.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and cloud teams to integrate security controls into APIs, web applications, and gateway architectures.
• Architect and optimize AI gateways and edge security frameworks to improve observability and real-time threat detection.
• Lead Layer 3/4 firewall and tunneling strategies to secure hybrid cloud connectivity and network traffic flows.
• Conduct security assessments of edge environments, identifying vulnerabilities and strengthening WAF and API configurations.
• Automate security controls and incident response mechanisms to enable real-time threat mitigation at scale.
• Monitor traffic patterns, logs, and security events to identify anomalies and continuously improve defense mechanisms.

• 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on application security, web security, or network security.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in DDoS protection, mitigation strategies, and large-scale attack defense.
• 2+ years of experience with WAF, API security, or AI gateways, including rule creation, tuning, and threat response.
• Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, web application vulnerabilities, and modern attack vectors.
• Solid knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SSL/TLS, and web application architecture.
• Experience with CDN and edge security platforms, ideally including Cloudflare security services.
• Ability to analyze logs, traffic patterns, and security telemetry to detect and respond to threats.
• Scripting and automation experience using Python, JavaScript, or similar languages for security engineering tasks.
• Familiarity with API security standards such as OAuth, JWT, authentication/authorization, and schema validation.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to operate in high-scale, production-critical environments.
• Preferred certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GWAPT, OSCP, or cloud security certifications.
