This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for owning and scaling the accounting function within a fast-growing, investor-backed SaaS environment. The Controller will ensure the integrity of financial reporting while driving operational excellence across close processes, systems, and internal controls. Acting as a key partner to FP&A, Operations, and executive leadership, this role plays a critical part in shaping financial visibility and decision-making. You will lead audit readiness, SaaS revenue recognition accuracy, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions. The position also emphasizes modernization of accounting systems, with a strong focus on automation and NetSuite optimization. This is a highly visible role that combines technical accounting expertise with strategic influence across the business.
- Own and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP standards while maintaining strong internal discipline across the accounting function.
- Lead financial reporting activities, including preparation of SaaS-focused metrics such as ARR, MRR, churn, bookings, and deferred revenue in partnership with FP&A.
- Manage audit and compliance processes, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors and overseeing tax coordination across federal, state, and international requirements.
- Drive technical accounting compliance, including ASC 606 revenue recognition and other complex accounting treatments.
- Optimize accounting systems and processes, with ownership of NetSuite configuration, reporting, workflows, and automation initiatives across financial operations.
- Oversee treasury and cash management, including working capital optimization and short-term cash forecasting.
- Lead and develop a small accounting team, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting experience (Big 4 or equivalent strongly preferred).
- Experience in a private equity-backed SaaS or high-growth technology environment with strong exposure to subscription-based business models.
- CPA certification preferred, with strong technical accounting expertise including ASC 606 and financial reporting standards.
- Deep hands-on experience with NetSuite, including system optimization, integrations, and reporting enhancements.
- Strong understanding of SaaS KPIs such as ARR, churn, bookings, and EBITDA, with ability to connect accounting data to business performance.
- Proven ability to improve processes, automate workflows, and enhance financial systems at scale.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with an operator mindset focused on execution and continuous improvement.
