POSITION OVERVIEW: (non-exempt)
The Marketing Specialist will assist in developing engaging and brand-consistent visuals and supports Jefferson County Health Center's marketing, communications, and branding efforts through the creation and management of digital, print, visual, and multimedia content. This position serves as the department's primary creative resource, responsible for graphic design, content creation, social media management, photography, videography, and website content updates.
Working collaboratively with the Marketing & Community Relations Manager and Marketing Coordinator, the Marketing Specialist helps execute marketing initiatives that promote organizational goals, strengthen brand awareness, support patient engagement, and enhance communication efforts throughout JCHC.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or Public Relations, or related field strongly preferred or 1-3 years of work experience in Marketing Communications, Graphic Design, or Public Relations.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); video editing skills a plus
- Strong visual design sense and attention to detail
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and balance multiple projects
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Reports to Marketing and Community Relations Manager
DIRECT REPORTS:
None
POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Create and manage content for social media, website, email, and other communication channels.
- Design and produce marketing materials for print and digital platforms.
- Capture and edit photography and video content to support marketing and communication initiatives.
- Maintain website content and support digital engagement efforts.
- Ensure consistency with JCHC brand standards across all communications and marketing materials.
- Support marketing campaigns, events, employee engagement initiatives, and community outreach efforts.
- Attend and provide marketing support for hospital and/or community events, including occasional evening and weekend activities as needed.
- Assist with tracking marketing performance metrics and departmental projects as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works in a well-illuminated, climate-controlled environment
- May come in contact with hazardous chemical or treatment modalities
- Possibility exists of exposure to communicable diseases
- Involvement in inpatient care may result in unavoidable work-related illness or injury
- Work environment is comfortable, with minimal exposure to physical hazards
- Moderate to loud noise environment when machines/equipment in use
- Involvement in checking in/moving of supplies may result in unavoidable work-related injury
- Must be constantly alert for patient/family emergency situations
