Job Description

As a Rehabilitation Therapist at our biopsychosocial medical organization, you will play an important role in supporting the well-being, recovery, and quality of life of our patients. In this role, you will incorporate alternative and movement-based therapeutic techniques such as strength and conditioning, Pilates, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, trauma-informed rehabilitation, somatic therapy, or other restorative practices.

Your expertise will support whole-person rehabilitation for individuals recovering from brain injury, chronic pain, PTSD, and other complex conditions. Through our comprehensive care model, you will help patients build physical capacity, improve body awareness, restore confidence, and support both physical and emotional healing.

Your Role:

Patient Assessment: Conduct a thorough screen of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological conditions to develop personalized rehabilitation plans.
Therapeutic Intervention: Utilize your expertise in one or more of the following techniques: Strength & Conditioning, Athletic trainer, Personal Trainer, Pilates, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or other activities to provide individualized and group therapy sessions that address patients' specific needs and goals. These sessions can take place in the clinic or at therapeutic community outing locations.
Patient Education: Educate patients on the benefits of alternative rehabilitation techniques to include strength, cardio, and other physical training and empower them to take an active role in their healing process.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly track and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Collaboration: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, physical therapists, psychologists, nutritionists, and other Rehabilitation Therapists to provide holistic care to patients.
Research and Innovation: Stay current with the latest advancements in rehabilitation therapies and contribute to the development and implementation of innovative approaches within our organization.
Patient Advocacy: Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients, ensuring their unique needs are met and fostering a compassionate and supportive environment.
Administrative Tasks: Complete necessary administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate patient records, managing appointment schedules, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
What We’re Looking For:

Certification in one or more of the following techniques: Certified Athletic Trainer; Certified Personal Trainer; Strength and Conditioning Specialist CSCS; or Physical Therapy Assistant- Licensed
Experience providing group exercise and/or individual rehabilitation, including therapeutic exercises and activities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest therapeutic techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:

Kinesiology Background
Previous experience in a biopsychosocial medical organization or similar healthcare setting
Experience in the military or working with military personnel
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Flexibility with solution focused creativity
Familiarity with holistic and alternative healthcare approaches.
Additional certifications or training in complementary therapies such as:
Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Yoga, Feldenkreis, Jui Jitsu
Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English
Working Conditions:

Work may involve standing, sitting, leading and teaching fitness sessions, and assisting patients with physical movements.
Collaborative office and clinical environment. This role encompasses clinic and community outing locations, must have reliable transportation.
