Title of position: Staff Engineer II, Process & Mechanical

Position type: Full Time

Pay range: $85,000-$110,000 (Compensation ranges are provided in good faith based on what we anticipate when researching wages for this position at the state and national levels. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range).

About the Role

Perform more advanced day-to-day technical engineering support for midstream oil and gas projects with limited guidance from Senior Engineering. Project types include, but not limited to: natural gas gathering, compression, dehydration, treating, NGL recovery, fractionation, storage, measurement, and utilities systems for such projects. Will report to Engineering Manager or Director of Engineering.

What You’ll Do

  • Specific knowledge of the various types of pumps and the appropriate specification and limitation of those units.
  • Specific knowledge of the various types of compressors and the appropriate specification and limitation of those units.
  • Broad knowledge of gas dehydration and its limitations.
  • Be able to specify equipment for quotation (Generate RFQ’s) and technically/commercially review quotes to make purchasing recommendations.
  • Develop Cause/Effect matrices.
  • Relay project information to other disciplines effectively.
  • Understand material specifications and the appropriate applications in the industry.
  • Make contributions to Process Hazard Analyses.
  • Develop P&IDs and PFDs from scratch.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of NPSH.
  • Review of mechanical isometric and plan drawings with the ability to recognize and understand material specifications, material types, and general assembly philosophy.
  • Ability to walk down, create redlines, and review KD product for as built P&IDs.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering Exam recommended.
  • Strong work ethic and willing to travel to field/project locations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills as well as attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to quickly react to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Has become proficient at the responsibilities required for Staff Engineer I.
  • Self-manage workload.
  • Proficient in technical writing.
