Anesthesia Technician in Lincoln, Nebraska at Bryan Health

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Anesthesia Technician assists nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologists in the acquisition, preparation, and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia. Performs first line equipment maintenance and servicing including cleaning and sterilizing, assembling, troubleshooting, and requisitioning equipment. Maintains supply/drugs/equipment inventory.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

2. *Orders and receives anesthesia supplies and equipment; maintains anesthesia inventory records for supplies, drugs and equipment.

3. *Receives/assesses and delivers items for repair; performs routine equipment maintenance and servicing including cleaning and sterilizing, assembly, and troubleshooting.

4. *Restocks supplies and medication in anesthesia cabinets and anesthesia carts.

5. *Cleans anesthesia area and equipment.

6. *Assists nurse anesthetist and anesthesiologist in the acquisition, preparation, and application of the equipment and supplies utilized in anesthesia administration.

7. *Accurately disassembles/reassembles, cleans and disinfects equipment and supplies.

8. *Maintains anesthesia medication inventory including ordering, stock rotation and the return of outdated medications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalency required. Prior hospital or surgical supply/equipment experience desired.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
