What we are looking for
Aleto, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Designer/Project Manager – FF&E, who combines deep contract furniture expertise with end-to-end project management ownership. This role is responsible for delivering turnkey furniture solutions across federal workspaces, supporting projects from planning and design through procurement, installation, and lifecycle closeout.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, technically fluent in furniture systems and AutoCAD documentation, and comfortable working both in the field and in an office environment. This role regularly interfaces with Contracting Officer’s Representatives (CORs), vendors, manufacturers, general contractors, and client stakeholders.

Senior Designer/Project Manager -Essential Job Duties
Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
End-to-End Furniture Project Management
Manage furniture projects of varying size and complexity across short- and long-term programs
Coordinate procurement, design, delivery, installation, storage, reuse, relocation, and closeout activities
Develop and manage project schedules, logistics plans, and phasing strategies
Maintain real-time visibility into scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
Furniture Technical & Product Expertise
Provide expert guidance on furniture systems, manufacturers, finishes, and performance characteristics
Support and advise on finish selection, furniture standards, and product suitability in federal environments
Review dealer drawings, submittals, and Bills of Material (BOMs) for technical accuracy
Design & Space Planning Support
Develop furniture layouts and drawings using AutoCAD in accordance with applicable CADD standards
Produce furniture design deliverables including floor plans, tagged plans, 3D views (as applicable), schedules, and installation drawings
Prepare redlines and electronic as-builts for facility records and client closeout
Create existing office layouts including existing infrastructure, equipment, and furniture components.
Create design intent layouts to include generic blocks and stacks, proposed buildouts, power/data infrastructure, equipment and furniture components.
Quoting, RFQ, and Cost Development
Review RFQs, scopes of work, and specifications for completeness and constructability
Prepare itemized BOMs aligned with GSA MAS and approved contract pricing
Support bid leveling, vendor evaluations, and pricing negotiations as required.
Task Order Execution & Installation Oversight
Coordinate site walks, field verifications, manufacturing timelines, delivery, and installation sequencing
Conduct pre-installation walks and support installation execution
Oversee quality control, punch list development, issue resolution, and final acceptance
Ensure safe operations and minimal disruption to client occupants
Logistics, Storage, and Inventory Management
Manage warehousing, temporary storage, and attic stock programs
Coordinate inventory tracking for phased installations, moves, or reuse initiatives
Align storage and logistics plans with master project schedules.
Warranty, Maintenance, and Lifecycle Support
Track and manage furniture warranties and service obligations
Support on-site repair programs and warranty service calls
Produce recurring warranty, maintenance, and attic stock reports.
Environmental & Sustainability Compliance
Ensure furniture selections comply with sustainability and environmental requirements
Support recycled content, certified wood, and low-emitting material criteria
Assist with LEED documentation, IAQ certifications (e.g., GREENGUARD), and VOC tracking.
Communication & Stakeholder Coordination
Serve as a primary furniture point-of-contact for assigned task orders and projects
Act as liaison with CORs, facility managers, designers, contractors, and vendors
Attend and lead project meetings, capture action items, and distribute meeting minutes
Provide proactive communication to occupants regarding upcoming furniture activities

Qualifications/Capabilities/Software Knowledge

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in interior design, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field OR equivalent professional experience in contract furniture
10+ years of experience supporting federal or commercial furniture projects (level dependent)
Proven experience with contract furniture procurement and installation
Required Skills & Knowledge
Strong understanding of contract furniture systems and federal environments
Working knowledge of AutoCAD; Revit a plus
Experience developing furniture specifications, RFQs, BOMs, and procurement packages
Familiarity with GSA MAS pricing and federal procurement processes
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to clients and leadership
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment

Pay Cycle
Paydays are on the 10th and the 24th of each month.
● Payroll is processed in arrears, according to the following schedule: o Time worked from 1st - 15th of the month is paid on the 24th. Time worked from 16th – last day of the month is paid on the 10th of the following month
● Because pay is issued in arrears, your first paycheck will be received on the next applicable pay date after your start date.
For example, if an employee starts on May 4, their first paycheck with Aleto would be issued on May 24.

Medical Insurance
Full-time employees are eligible to enroll in Aleto’s Aetna-sponsored health insurance plans. Aleto contributes $400 per month toward employee medical premiums, equal to 75% of the Employee Only premium for the HSA 3300 Base Plan. Employees may select from two HSA-eligible plans or a POS plan.
Dental Insurance
Aleto provides dental insurance coverage through the Aetna PPO 2000 plan. Aleto contributes 75% of the employee’s premium and employees pay the full premium cost for any enrolled dependents. There is no waiting period for dental insurance coverage—benefits are available immediately upon hire.
Vision Insurance
Aleto provides vision benefits coverage through the Aetna Preferred Vision. Aleto contributes 75% of the employee’s premium and employees pay the full premium cost for any enrolled dependents. There is no waiting period for dental insurance coverage—benefits are available immediately upon hire.
Pre-Tax Savings Accounts
The option to enroll in an HSA or FSA depending on elected medical insurance coverage.

Paid Time Off:
Paid time off includes eleven federal holidays. Full-time employees accrue PTO at the rate of 5 hours per pay period for a total of three weeks per year. In addition, employees are provided with a separate bank of 40 hours of paid sick leave per year.
