Job Description

Community Intelligence & Engagement Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Community Intelligence & Engagement Manager based in Canada.

This role sits at the center of a large, fast-moving technical community ecosystem where design, engineering, and maker audiences actively exchange ideas and feedback. You will act as a connective intelligence hub, monitoring conversations across multiple platforms and transforming scattered signals into clear, actionable insights. The work blends community engagement, data interpretation, and operational coordination to help shape how the organization responds to its users in real time.
You will identify emerging trends, risks, advocacy opportunities, and product feedback across digital spaces where professionals naturally gather.
By connecting the right internal experts to the right conversations, you ensure responses are timely, credible, and human-centered.
This is a highly cross-functional role, partnering with product, data, and community teams to improve engagement strategy.
It is ideal for someone who thrives in structured complexity and enjoys turning online conversations into strategic direction and meaningful action.

Accountabilities:

You will monitor, analyze, and operationalize community intelligence across multiple digital channels such as Reddit, Discord, LinkedIn, and YouTube, as well as forums and owned communities. You will use AI-enabled listening tools like Common Room and similar platforms to surface insights on sentiment, trends, risks, and advocacy signals.

  • Monitor cross-platform conversations to detect emerging themes, customer pain points, competitive signals, and reputational risks in real time
  • Translate community signals into structured insights, reports, and actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders
  • Act as a coordination hub for engagement workflows, ensuring the right internal experts and advocates respond to high-priority discussions
  • Build and maintain “signal-to-action” systems that route conversations to SMEs, community leaders, or ambassadors efficiently
  • Support advocacy and ambassador ecosystems by identifying influential contributors and fostering meaningful engagement
  • Partner with product, marketing, and community teams to improve response strategies and strengthen community trust
  • Develop frameworks to track engagement quality, sentiment, influence, and overall ecosystem health
  • Use AI-assisted workflows to improve listening, prioritization, and engagement scalability
Requirements

This role requires experience in community operations, digital engagement, or ecosystem intelligence within technical or SaaS environments. You should be comfortable working across multiple platforms and synthesizing large volumes of qualitative and quantitative data into clear direction.

  • 3–5+ years of experience in community management, social intelligence, ecosystem coordination, or related fields
  • Strong familiarity with online communities across platforms like Reddit, Discord, LinkedIn, YouTube, and specialized forums
  • Experience using community intelligence or social listening tools such as Common Room, Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Orbit, or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate signals into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong cross-functional collaboration ability
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple parallel engagement streams and priorities
  • Understanding of trust-building, advocacy development, and online community dynamics in technical audiences
  • Comfort working with AI/LLM tools to enhance workflows and insight generation
  • Bonus: experience with advocacy programs, technical communities, or engineering/design ecosystems
Benefits
  • Competitive salary aligned with Canadian market standards (role-dependent)
  • Remote-first flexibility across Canada
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and wellness coverage
  • Opportunities to work closely with technical experts, creators, and global community leaders
  • Access to modern AI-driven tools and community intelligence platforms
  • Strong focus on professional development and cross-functional learning
  • Inclusive and collaborative work culture centered on innovation and trust.
