LOCATION:

Samsill is located in Fort Worth, TX, 15 minutes from downtown Fort Worth and 20 minutes from the historical stockyards.

Our Operations team is seeking an experienced TSM Operator who is ready to contribute to a collaborative, quality-focused manufacturing environment.

JOB SUMMARY:

The TSM Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a TSM Widmann automated sealing machine to produce high-quality binder flats according to production specifications and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and interpret work orders, schematics, machine manuals, and production specifications to perform machine setup and troubleshooting.
  • Perform machine changeovers and make adjustments as needed to ensure efficient operation.
  • Operate and monitor machine functions, including ultrasonic welding, glue systems, hole punch units, die changes, and other machine components.
  • Load raw material rolls onto the machine and unload, inspect, and verify finished binder flats for quality.
  • Maintain established production rates while meeting quality standards.
  • Coordinate material movement with forklift operators and assist with inventory control activities.
  • Identify and report defective materials, equipment issues, or unusual conditions to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety procedures.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance according to scheduled maintenance requirements.
  • Complete all required production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process improvement teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and production documents.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, percentages, and measurements.
  • Ability to read a metric tape measure and use a calculator accurately.
  • Good visual inspection skills to identify quality defects and safety concerns.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two to three years of manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
  • Troubleshooting experience and PLC knowledge are highly desirable.
  • Advanced technology experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently bend, squat, kneel, crouch, and crawl to access equipment.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for machine adjustments and precision work.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to distinguish colors on wiring and machine indicators.
  • Good near and distance vision (corrected vision acceptable).
  • Adequate hearing to recognize abnormal machine sounds and alarms.
  • Ability to push and pull heavy equipment, carts, and materials.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures within a manufacturing environment.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday – Thursday
5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
