SUMMARY
The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Environmental Services department to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, staff, and guests. This position supervises environmental services personnel, ensures compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards, and promotes exceptional customer service through effective leadership, staff development, quality assurance, and operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise daily environmental services operations to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, staff, and customers.
- Lead, train, coach, and evaluate environmental services staff to maintain high performance and adherence to organizational standards.
- Develop and manage employee work schedules, assignments, and staffing levels to ensure adequate departmental coverage.
- Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas to verify cleanliness, safety, and compliance with established policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control procedures, OSHA standards, and all applicable environmental and safety regulations.
- Monitor staff performance, provide ongoing coaching, and conduct performance evaluations to support employee development.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints and service concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost-effective usage.
- Train employees on the proper use of cleaning equipment, chemicals, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe work practices.
- Coordinate deep cleaning, terminal cleaning, and special projects to support operational and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with nursing, facilities, infection prevention, and other departments to ensure efficient operations and exceptional service delivery.
- Monitor departmental productivity and quality metrics, implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, inspection documentation, and employee attendance records.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and reported for repair when necessary.
- Enforce departmental policies, procedures, and safety protocols while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Participate in emergency response activities, disaster preparedness, and facility-wide safety initiatives as needed.
- Conduct new employee orientation and ongoing training to ensure competency and compliance with organizational standards.
- Assist with departmental budgeting by monitoring supply usage, labor costs, and operational expenses.
- Recognize and reward employee achievements while fostering a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
- Support accreditation surveys and regulatory inspections by maintaining departmental readiness and ensuring compliance with healthcare and environmental standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $30.00 - $30.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
