As the Receptionist / Accounting Clerk, you are organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy wearing multiple hats. You are a friendly and professional first point of contact for customers, visitors, and vendors while also keeping the accounting department running smoothly behind the scenes. You take pride in accuracy, communicate clearly, and are always ready to jump in where needed.
As a Receptionist / Accounting Clerk with Maintainer, you will be responsible for:
- Entering and generating all invoicing for Maintainer Corp. of Iowa and processing cash receipts, deposit slips, and electronic file scanning for Accounts Receivable.
- Entering invoices daily, maintaining recurring payments, generating weekly Accounts Payable checks, and typing manual checks as needed.
- Scanning and organizing AP and AR documents into electronic file software to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Answering, screening, and transferring incoming calls using a multi-line phone console and paging system with a pleasant and professional manner.
- Serving as the receptionist for clients, visitors, vendors, and job applicants — representing Maintainer with a welcoming attitude.
- Picking up, sorting, and distributing daily mail.
- Performing miscellaneous clerical tasks as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.
- Two-year associate degree in accounting or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years of prior accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with basic accounting functions and processes, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
- Strong communication skills — both written and verbal — with a pleasant phone manner.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on occasion.
- Must pass drug screen prior to employment.
