Mastering the AWS Cloud, Department of Cybersecurity - Adjunct Faculty

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Mastering the AWS Cloud, Department of Cybersecurity – Adjunct Faculty based in Canada.

This remote adjunct faculty role focuses on delivering high-quality, practice-oriented instruction in cloud computing and cybersecurity, with a specific emphasis on Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will guide adult learners through foundational and advanced AWS concepts, including compute, networking, storage, and database services. The role emphasizes applied learning, helping students develop the ability to design secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions aligned with real-world industry needs. You will engage a diverse population of learners, many of whom are working professionals balancing education with career and personal commitments. As an instructor, you will foster an interactive and supportive virtual classroom environment that encourages participation and practical problem-solving. The position is well suited for professionals who combine strong technical expertise with a passion for teaching and mentorship in a flexible, remote academic setting. You will also contribute to continuous curriculum improvement and student success outcomes.

Accountabilities:
  • Deliver engaging online instruction for the “Mastering the AWS Cloud (CMIT 426)” course in alignment with program outcomes
  • Guide students in applying AWS services across compute, networking, storage, and database environments through hands-on learning
  • Facilitate active student participation, collaboration, and problem-based learning in a virtual classroom environment
  • Provide timely, structured, and constructive feedback using rubrics to support student progress and achievement
  • Assess student performance and ensure alignment with academic standards and course objectives
  • Support learner success by connecting theoretical concepts to real-world cloud computing and cybersecurity applications
  • Maintain regular communication with students, fostering engagement, motivation, and academic persistence
  • Contribute feedback to program leadership for ongoing course and curriculum improvement
Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Professional experience in computer networking, cybersecurity, or cloud computing environments
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including core infrastructure and security services
  • Experience in designing or implementing secure, reliable cloud-based systems is highly desirable
  • Prior experience teaching adult learners or delivering online higher education instruction is strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Strong mentoring mindset with a passion for supporting student learning and professional development
  • Ability to engage diverse, remote learners in an interactive and inclusive learning environment
  • Familiarity with instructional design, assessment tools, and academic feedback practices is an asset
