Accountabilities:

The Ward Coordinator will oversee the implementation of malaria elimination activities within the assigned ward, ensuring effective coordination between field teams, healthcare providers, government stakeholders, and communities. The role requires strong programme management skills, proactive problem solving, and commitment to improving public health outcomes.

  • Coordinate implementation of malaria elimination activities within the assigned ward and support execution of operational plans.
  • Facilitate active case detection, fever surveillance, malaria diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up activities.
  • Coordinate with public and private healthcare providers to improve malaria case reporting and surveillance coverage.
  • Monitor progress against ward-level plans, identify operational challenges, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support implementation of G6PD testing and radical cure activities according to programme requirements.
  • Coordinate GIS mapping activities, hotspot identification, and investigation efforts.
  • Supervise frontline workers and field teams to ensure effective delivery of interventions.
  • Conduct supportive supervision visits and provide guidance to improve field performance.
  • Organize community awareness initiatives targeting vulnerable populations, including migrant communities and high-risk groups.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of surveillance data, programme reports, and performance updates.
  • Participate in programme review meetings and contribute insights for continuous improvement.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have experience in public health programme implementation, field coordination, and community-based interventions. The role requires strong organizational abilities, communication skills, and the capacity to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Life Sciences, Nursing, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field is desirable.
  • 3–5 years of experience implementing public health programmes or community health initiatives.
  • Previous experience working on communicable disease programmes is preferred.
  • Experience coordinating field teams and managing community-based activities.
  • Familiarity with municipal health systems and local healthcare networks is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of surveillance processes, reporting mechanisms, and health programme monitoring.
  • Ability to manage data, track indicators, and prepare accurate programme reports.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify challenges and implement practical solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
