Food Service Manager
Leadership food service position, full time
Salary
The Food Service Manager role is a leadership position in our food service department that is responsible for overall quality food products, quality of service, and ensuring that all food service safety guidelines are followed. The Food Service Manager will provide effective, enthusiastic leadership in managing staff and provide outstanding customer satisfaction. The manager will work in conjunction with the Cooks, Sandwich Makers, and Salad Bar Attendants to come up with menus, products, and pricing, as well, as ensure each teammate has full understanding of the recipes and procedures. This position requires a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and will require a ServSafe Food Manager certification.
- Maintain and record equipment and food inventories
- Maintain a safe work area and ensure health and safety code compliance among employees
- Conduct regular accounting and inventory procedures
- Maintain recipes and portion control to achieve profitability and customer satisfaction
- Conduct training for all staff on food service duties and food safety
- Assign staff duties and schedule shifts
- Respond promptly to guest and/or employee needs to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Monitor daily production logs to maximize sales and minimize waste
- Understand sales, food cost and bottom-line profitability goals
- Order inventory to provide adequate stock and maintain a fresh and safe product line
- Ensure proper rotation of products and that expiration dates are monitored closely
Qualifications and Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Bachelor's degree or culinary degree preferred
Full knowledge of proper sanitation, food safety, and storage procedures
Full knowledge menu items and presentations, etc.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Strong skills in time management and organization, with excellent attention to detail
Strong people skills to motivate others
Display an attitude of courtesy and cooperation
Math skills to complete recipes and paperwork accurately
Analytical skills and a degree of emotional intelligence to recognize and solve problems
Maintain positive working relationships with all Team Members
The physical ability to stand, use hands, stoop, kneel or crouch, and lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds
Ability to drive sales and profitability
Financial understanding of Gross Profit and Food Cost Accounting
Ability to set priorities and complete tasks efficiently
