Corporate Giving & Philanthropy Officer

POSITION SUMMARY

The Corporate Giving & Philanthropy Officer is responsible for contributing to strategy and implementing Craig Hospital Foundation's corporate giving programming and mid-level donor work. This position will apply one-to-one and one-to-many strategies to cultivate, ask, and steward donors. The Corporate Giving & Philanthropy Officer will hold a portfolio of prospective and active givers, including event and program sponsors, individual donors, and corporate philanthropists. This role will actively engage in acquisition and discovery, and qualification; participate in sponsorship strategy, write and present proposals and reports; engage donors as ambassadors; participate in pipeline development; host givers and prospects for engagement opportunities; and track metrics across their work. This position will be accountable to driving and reporting on metrics and implementing a data-informed approach to their work. They will also partner with Foundation leadership to work with the Board and committees to identify new prospective supporters and deepen existing relationships.

Location: 3425 S Clarkson St, Englewood, CO 80113 (located in the foundation building on the Craig Campus)

Shift: Monday-Friday 8 am- 4:30 pm MST

Compensation: Exempt; $63,190.40 — $91,000.00

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Licensure/Certification/Registrations: Active and insurable Colorado State Driver's license.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3+ of experience in personal solicitation of donations, sponsorships and/or sales. Experience with corporate and mid-level individual fundraising and database preferred. Experience in healthcare philanthropy preferred. Documented success in managing a portfolio of donors and the successful solicitation of prospects.
  • Skills & Abilities: Experienced in corporate relations and highly driven by building relationships to further our mission. Skilled in project management and sponsor activation. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships. Demonstrated ability to be entrepreneurial and innovative. Outstanding communications and presentation skills. Proactive and goal-oriented. Ability to work collaboratively and successfully as a member of a team as well as independently. Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines, while effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work under pressure and meet financial goals. Good talent for being flexible and adapting presentations to meet the interests of each donor. Must be able to successfully and effectively communicate with a variety of personnel. Knowledge of fundraising and development principles, methods and procedures. Excellent verbal communication skills to include outstanding persuasion and sales skills to influence potential donors. Possess good analytical and problem-solving skills, must be detail oriented with excellent follow-through. The ability to relate to persons of all ages and diverse backgrounds, skills and abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position. Creative and able to be an "out of the box" thinker. Ability to present self in a personable, professional and energetic manner. Must have a high level of accuracy and proofreading skills. Raiser's Edge knowledge is strongly preferred. Must be capable of traveling locally and nationally. Ability to display a passion for the mission of Craig Hospital. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Manage a portfolio of event sponsors as well as corporate and mid-level prospective supporters and givers. Lead proactive outreach through emails, calls, visits, and digital engagement to cultivate, ask, and steward these supporters.
  • Apply a one-to-one and one-to-many approach to your portfolio for a high-volume and impactful donor experience.
  • Qualify, assess, and solicit prospective supporters to secure mid-level and leadership annual giving donations. Retain and upgrade donors; solicit multi-year gifts. \
  • Participate in qualification/disqualification activities. Conduct donor visits and generate referrals for annual giving, mid-level, major gifts, planned gifts, and volunteerism.
  • Recruit, cultivate, solicit, steward, and renew Craig Foundation sponsorships with corporations and individuals, both regionally and nationally. Participate in sponsorship strategy, alongside the events team, and ensure all aspects of partnership with sponsors are executed. Responsible for stewardship of portfolio and reporting to event donors on impact.
  • Responsible for the timely tracking and updating of action reports and opportunities in the database, across all portfolio work.
  • Participate in goal setting in collaboration with leadership and events teammates and determine resources needed to meet these goals. Create action plans and meet specific goals related to acquisition, solicitation, shared revenue goals, upgrades, and more.
  • Provide regular pipeline reports to inform forecasting and strategic planning. Track discovery metrics such as outreach volume, qualification rates, and conversion to portfolios.
  • Write proposals, materials, solicitation letters, and other related fundraising materials for solicitations.
  • Build relationships and passionately invite donors to support Craig Hospital through inspirational presentations, hospital tours, meetings, and discussions. Develop and facilitate presentations in the community about Craig, creating a pipeline for sponsorship and corporate engagement.
  • Design and lead a comprehensive corporate giving program for the Craig Foundation. Collaborate with teammates on donor relationships. Adhere to healthcare-related standards and compliance for engagement in corporate philanthropy.
  • Solicit gift-in-kind requests to support events and other priority areas. Create customized recognition levels as needed.
  • Lead and implement the annual Craig Hospital employee giving campaign including strategy, project management, internal committee work, employee giving events, and stewardship.
  • Evaluate program results and determine strategies for the future. Present program results to the Foundation team, leadership, Foundation Board and committees as requested.
  • Plan, lead, and facilitate committees as requested.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts through in-person, phone and email communication. Participate in welcome bag delivery, leading tours, and IOE meetings as requested.
  • Lead Craig Hospital tours.
  • Maintain an active schedule and meet specific goals, including revenue-based goals.
  • Participate in staff meetings, activities, and strategic planning for the Foundation.
  • Serve as a member of the Foundation team to assist in meeting overall annual and campaign goals.
  • Apply industry best practices and proven metrics to work.
  • Generate comprehensive reports and data analysis. Develop and document processes and workflows.
  • Maintain corporate compliance and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate theme, collateral, logistics, execution, and follow-up for internal employee giving campaign.
  • Cross-train on team functions.
  • Lead and/or participate on committees and task forces as requested.
  • Present at hospital orientation on behalf of the Craig Foundation.
  • Become familiar with and follow hospital-wide and department-specific policies and procedures; seeking assistance from management when clarification or assistance is needed.
  • Become familiar with and follow Craig Hospital Cultural Covenants.
  • Assist other staff as requested.

This position involves general guidance and direction by the Director of Development with general oversight by the Senior Director of Donor Engagement & Operations and the President of the Craig Foundation. Employees in this position will be expected to perform most job duties and responsibilities independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

This position is not responsible for the direct supervision of any other positions.
