Job Description
Job Summary: The Neurophysiology Technologist functions as a resource person to physicians and their staff, family members and hospital staff. Prepare patients and performs Electroencephalograms, Ambulatory EEG's, BAER's, VEP and other tests within their scope of practice.
Responsibilities:
- Functions as a resource person to physicians and their staff, family members and hospital staff.
- Prepares the patient and performs Electroencephalograms, Ambulatory EEG's, Routine EEG’s, and LTM’s.
- Edit and prepare a test for reading by a physician.
- Reports findings or concerns to the reading physician for prompt interpretation.
- The employee will demonstrate customer service in all interactions, that is compassionate, courteous, friendly, non-judgmental and demonstrates a respect for privacy.
- Cleans and maintains equipment (EEG machine and accessories).
- Use specific protocol for patient wires, including taking them off and proper cleaning and storage.
- Some office responsibilities such as scheduling, filing, computer and telephone skills.
- Performs other duties as directed by the Neurophysiology Manager or Chief of Neurophysiology, EEG.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience: 2 years of experience as a Neurophysiology Technologist, preferred.
Education: Graduate of a formal EEG training program in Electro neurodiagnostic technology or equivalent combination of training and experience, required.
Licenses / Certifications: BLS CPR and Neuro Diagnos Tech certificate upon hire, required.

Special Requirements:. ABRET, registry preferred but not required at time of hire, must be deemed ABRET registry eligible and have attempted the ABRET registry within the first 2 years of hire date and ABRET registered within 5 years of hire date, required.
