Job Description
The Human Resources Generalist plays an important role in supporting Family Circle of Care employees and managers throughout the employment lifecycle. This is a hands-on HR position with responsibilities across recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee support, leave administration, HR systems, credentialing, compliance, and employee engagement.
The HR Generalist will serve as a resource for employees and managers, provide responsive HR support, maintain accurate and confidential records, and help ensure HR processes are completed timely and consistently.This position will work closely with the Senior Human Resources Manager and other members of the People Operations team while having the opportunity to independently manage several key HR functions.
Responsibilities:Manage recruitment for clinical, clerical, and management positions, including job postings, applicant review, interviews, references, background checks, and preparation of job offers.
Coordinate pre-employment and onboarding requirements, including employment documentation, E-Verify, employee health requirements, badges, system requests, and other new hire needs.
Manage New Employee Orientation, including maintaining orientation materials and presenting information related to employee benefits, policies, and the Code of Conduct.
Serve as a resource for employees and managers by answering HR-related questions, assisting with routine employee matters, and escalating complex matters when appropriate.
Monitor the HR inbox and ensure employee and manager requests are addressed or routed timely.
Process employee changes within the HR/payroll system, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, deductions, and employee information updates.
Serve as backup for payroll processing.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and HR records.
Process employee benefit enrollments, terminations, qualifying life events, and other changes within benefit and carrier systems.
Administer employee leave processes, including FMLA, personal leave, short-term disability, and long-term disability, while monitoring eligibility, documentation, and required deadlines.
Coordinate employee credentialing activities, including collecting documentation, completing primary source verifications, tracking licenses and certifications, and preparing files for Credentialing Committee review.
Assist with payer enrollment and credentialing activities as assigned.
Coordinate documentation and onboarding requirements for students completing clinical rotations with FCC.
Complete and document monthly OIG exclusion checks and assist with other HR compliance activities.
Partner with the Senior Human Resources Manager to develop and update job descriptions.
Assist with employee engagement activities, wellness initiatives, and other HR projects.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with employees and leaders throughout the organization.
Excellent organization and attention to detail, particularly when managing confidential employee records, benefits, leave, and credentialing documentation.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and deadlines in a fast-paced Human Resources environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate HR information clearly and professionally.
Sound judgment and problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize when matters should be escalated.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information appropriately.
Ability to learn new HR, payroll, benefits, credentialing, and payer enrollment systems.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of the People Operations team.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from an accredited college or university.
2–5 years of Human Resources experience.
Experience in multiple HR functions, such as recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, leave administration, payroll, employee relations, or HRIS administration.
Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accurate and confidential records.
Working knowledge of applicable employment laws and Human Resources practices.
Proficiency with HR/payroll systems and standard office software.
Previous Human Resources experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
Experience with employee benefits and leave administration, including FMLA and disability benefits.
Experience with healthcare credentialing or payer enrollment.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification highly desired but not required.
