We’re seeking a skilled Family Paralegal to join our growing team in a hybrid position that combines in-office and remote work flexibility.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, proactive paralegal who can confidently support attorneys across case management, scheduling, legal research, document drafting, and client communication. This role requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. Proficiency with legal technology and a commitment to accuracy are essential. Family law experience and a compassionate, client-focused approach are strongly preferred.
Compensation:$25 - $35 hourly DOE
Responsibilities:
Prepare, draft, and format family law documents, including pleadings, motions, financial affidavits, discovery requests, and responses.
Manage discovery processes by tracking deadlines, coordinating document collection and production, and maintaining organized case summaries.
Support attorneys in case preparation and the execution of legal strategy through organization, documentation, research, and consistent follow-through.
Communicate professionally and empathetically with clients, including in sensitive or high-conflict situations, using sound judgment and appropriate de-escalation techniques.
File legal documents with the courts, including through e- filing systems, and coordinate service of process as needed.
Manage scheduling for court appearances, mediations, client meetings, and critical case deadlines.
Open and maintain accurate, organized digital and physical case files, ensuring timely updates throughout the case lifecycle.
Accurately track and record billable time
Use macOS, Google Workspace, MyCase, and other legal technology to manage case information and support efficient workflows.
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of experience working under an attorney in a family law firm or equivalent legal experience.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Completion of an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program, an associate degree in paralegal studies, or a comparable paralegal education program; equivalent relevant paralegal experience may be considered in lieu of formal paralegal education.
- Proficiency with MacOS, Google Workspace, MyCase, and other legal technology.
- Strong legal research, writing, and document preparation skills.
- Demonstrated integrity and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive matters.
- Strong time-management, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to effectively support multiple attorneys and collaborate with a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients professionally and empathetically.
