DSRT SURF isn't a traditional workplace, and we're not looking for a traditional Chef & Beverage Supervisor.

We're building a fast growing hospitality and lifestyle brand focused on creating memorable experiences, strong community engagement, and a recognizable destination driven presence. We're looking for a talented and creative food and beverage professional who is passionate about culinary craftsmanship, seasonal menu development, café and bar operations, and building an F&B program that reflects the energy and lifestyle of DSRT SURF.

The Chef & Beverage Supervisor will report directly to the Director of Guest Experiences and serve as the culinary and beverage lead for all food and beverage operations at DSRT SURF. This role is the culinary and beverage lead for DSRT SURF and is responsible for creating and executing a seasonal menu, managing all kitchen ordering and inventory, maintaining par levels, and overseeing daily F&B operations across our café outlet, bar, event bar, and prep area.

The Chef & Beverage Supervisor will play a key role in shaping a food and beverage program that is creatively driven, operationally excellent, and fully aligned with the DSRT SURF guest experience. This position offers real opportunity for growth — including expanded leadership and ownership as the brand and F&B program scale.

Requirements:

What You Bring

  • Previous culinary leadership experience as a kitchen supervisor, culinary lead, or equivalent required
  • Strong understanding of café and F&B operations, menu development, and kitchen management
  • Experience with food and beverage ordering, inventory management, par level maintenance, and vendor relations
  • Proven ability to develop and execute seasonal, creative menus with attention to quality, consistency, and cost
  • Knowledge of food costing, waste reduction, and kitchen budgeting
  • Experience leading and supervising kitchen and F&B staff in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of California food safety regulations; ServSafe certification preferred
  • Familiarity with café, bar, and event beverage programming
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and outlets during high-volume service periods
  • Creative mindset with a passion for food, beverage, and lifestyle hospitality
  • Professional presence and collaborative approach to working across departments

Current Work Environment

DSRT SURF is currently operating within an active growth and development environment. Team members may occasionally work around changing operational priorities, evolving business needs, events, and active hospitality environments.

Appropriate attire and adherence to all company standards and policies will be required while representing the brand.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move throughout kitchen, café, and event environments for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move food, beverage, and supply deliveries up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in warm kitchen environments for extended periods
  • Ability to work in fast-paced indoor and outdoor hospitality environments
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events as needed

Compensation

This is an hourly, non-exempt position. The pay range for this role is $23.00 – $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Schedule Expectations

This is a full-time hourly position. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events is required based on operational needs. Overtime will be compensated in accordance with California law.
