Job Description
Position: Head Elementary Cheer Coach
Reports to: Athletics Director
FLMA: Non-exempt
Job Status: Seasonal
Season Dates: September 2026 - May 2027
Adventure Christian School is seeking a positive and enthusiastic Elementary Cheer Coach to support our TK–5th grade cheer program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with younger athletes and contributing to a fun, energetic team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning practices, games, and performances - (Practices are once a week, for one hour each practice)
- Help teach fundamental cheer skills (motions, jumps, chants, routines)
- Promote teamwork, effort, and sportsmanship
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment
- Other duties assigned by the Athletics Director
Spiritual & Character Expectations:
- Model Christ-like character in all interactions
- Support the mission and values of Adventure Christian School
- Encourage spiritual growth and accountability among student-athletes
- Be willing to participate in team devotions and program culture-building activities
Qualifications
- Cheer experience (playing or coaching) preferred but not required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude and ability to work with elementary-aged students
- Willingness to learn and grow within the program
- Commitment to the mission and values of Adventure Christian School
Physical Requirements
- Position requires moderate physical exertion associated with the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or climb.
- Position requires physical capability for sustained physical work, requires strength and endurance associated with moderate physical effort.
- Position requires moderate physical effort while performing continuous moderate lifting.
- Lifting 50 lbs. maximum or carrying an object up to 25 lbs.
