Job Description
Position Purpose: The Accountant I is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance department.
What you’ll do:
· Prepare various account reconciliations
· Report the status of accounts and discrepancies
· Retrieve needed daily/monthly/quarterly reports from core and ancillary systems
· Prepare various monthly reports for use by other departments
· Prepare journal entries as needed
· Act as a backup to accounts payable processing
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements:Where you’ll shine:
· High school diploma
· Knowledge of basic accounting and financial transactions
· Banking experience desired
· Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and effective PC skills including electronic mail, intranet, and industry standard applications.
· Compliance awareness and knowledge
· Knowledge of federal banking regulations
· Proficient computer skills
· Detail oriented and excellent interpersonal skills
· Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve
· Organized
· Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Working Conditions:
The individual will be required to be available after normal working hours. Business travel may be necessary to meet with vendors and attend training opportunities. Occasional hours beyond standard scheduling may be required to meet critical deadlines.
