Responsibilities
The Field Data Technician reports to the project manager and typically performs tasks of substantial scope to support projects while working with office and field staff to process incoming information and produce final project deliverables. This role works closely with the field coordinator.
- Daily processing of survey data, including evaluating accuracy and sufficiency, and ensuring compliance to applicable regulations and professional and industry standards related to boundary calculations, legal descriptions, etc.
- Ability to perform deed plotting
- Ability to understand and prepare survey plats and drawings, legal descriptions and alignment drawings
- Provide technical office support (brief & de-brief) to field crews
- Ability to create work orders to support field activities
- Ensure quality of work, productivity objectives set by supervisor for competition of requested work
- Coordination with field coordinator, office, client, or client’s representatives to ensure job objectives are achieved
- Ability to provide sketches or other deliverables to assist the client as needed
Qualifications
- 3-5 years progressive field and office experience in route survey projects, boundary analysis, DTM projects, and construction layout
- Excellent computer and technical skills, including Auto CAD and/or MicroStation and MS Office Suite as well as Trimble Business Center
- Proficient in technical math, including Geometry and Trigonometry
- Strong listening, writing and verbal communication skills
- Proven work history, strong work ethic and team-player attitude
