Job Description
Maintenance Manager - Transit (ASE Required)
passenger vehicles. The Maintenance Manager will own the scheduling and review of allvehicle maintenance with in-house and 3rd party maintenance providers, while reviewing allrepair details and costs. Included with the maintenance will be control of roadside responseefforts and overseeing of all regulatory compliance inspections of the organizations fleet.
Duties And Responsibilities
Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs (e.g. adjust/test steering,electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, powersteering units, clutches, transmissions and oil, temperature, gas regulatingcomponents, adjust/test/rebuild engines etc.) and related assigned duties withinqualification level, in accordance with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial andlocal guidelines and requirements.
Oversee and comply with local WeDriveU maintenance and safety SOPs, locally
applicable public authority legislation, regulation and standards, ensuring that
maintenance staff follow them
Utilize and supervise the local use of WeDriveU EAM (Enterprise Asset
Management) ERP application, and maintenance facility staff to record and to
track local maintenance work orders and parts inventory.
Manage preventive maintenance and unscheduled repairs for the vehicles
serviced by this facility.
Represent the maintenance activity at the local level in its interaction,
communication and coordination of activities with other local operations
functions: driver care, route operations, and customer care
Supervise the maintenance staff.
Skills Required And Physical Demands
Minimum five years of recent experience managing fixed route or paratransitfleet; experience maintaining a fleet of 70 buses or more; experiencedeveloping, implementing and maintaining a qualified maintenance program;experience with Eldorado or equivalent paratransit or fixed route buses; andcompletion of Automotive Service Excellence certifications (A1-A9, H8) orequivalent manufacturer training and certifications related to Pace vehicleoperations is preferred but not required. Must employ and continuously trainstaff in EV-specific systems and be certified to ASE L3 standards.
Experience with compliance with the local applicable DOT compliance of Med /
Heavy Trucks
Prefer ASE Certification as a Master Automotive Technician and/or a Master
Truck Technician
Microsoft Office with robust experience in Excel
Strong electronic filing, documentation tracking and organizational skills
Attention to detail and consistent formatting.
Self-Motivated and driven problem solver
Multiple years experience in transportation, encourage passenger
transportation history
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Work experience with mechanical background and aptitude
Additional skills and physical demands may apply
Education And Qualifications
Hard requirements
5 years experience with fleet management company
Diesel Engine Repair experience.
5 years of Cummins Engine Repair
Preferred Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Finance, Logistics, and/or
Transportation.
CDL not required but preferred.
