POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is a critical support role for the Transportation Team. As a Driver, you will transport and deliver products to school sites and warehouses while providing safe, dependable, and professional service to our customers.
Our drivers play an important role in keeping schools supplied and our customers supported. This is a touch-freight position and requires unloading products at delivery locations.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle.
- Deliver and unload products at customer locations.
- Make scheduled deliveries and pickups to and from school sites and warehouses.
- Read and follow routes, delivery instructions, and road maps.
- Perform basic truck maintenance and vehicle checks.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues before and after each trip.
- Meet delivery schedules while maintaining safe work practices.
- Properly track and document driving logs using an ELD.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and the management team.
- Report vehicle issues, accidents, incidents, or delivery concerns promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Maintain safe and professional work practices.
- Perform other duties as requested.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Previous commercial truck driving experience.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Ability to safely handle the physical demands of a touch-freight position.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to customer service.
- Valid DOT Medical Certificate.
- Motor Vehicle Record covering 10 years of driving history.
- 10-year DMV driving record dated within the last 30 days with no more than 2 points.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must successfully complete required background and pre-employment screening.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Class A commercial driving experience: 1 year required
- Valid CDL Class A: Required
- Must successfully pass a driver's road test or equivalent.
SCHEDULE & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Monday–Friday
- Home Daily
- Local delivery routes to schools and other customer locations.
- Touch-freight position requiring loading/unloading and frequent movement throughout the workday.
- Schedule and start times may vary based on assigned routes and business needs.
