Job description

Growing and busy multi office neurology practice, specializing in headache medicine, we have some of the BEST specialists in the field. We are looking for additional Certified Medical Assistants to grow our team. This is a full-time position with benefits. Workdays are Monday - Friday, and hours are generally 8am - 5pm.

Full Job Description:

  • Answering phones
  • Interaction with patients
  • Calling Pharmacies
  • Relaying information to patients from providers
  • Utilization of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Processing patient medical records
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Coordinating with hospitals, doctor's offices, ancillary services
  • Coordinating with testing labs

In addition to administrative functions, medical assistants have clinical duties that may include:

  • Exam room preparation
  • Inventory and stocking of medical supplies
  • IM and SQ injections
  • Collection/preparation of lab specimens (urine, blood, spinal fluid, body tissues)
  • Drawing blood
  • Assisting physician during examination/procedure

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Medical Assistant performs all duties required for back-office staff including but not limited to:

Patient flow: Greeting patients, vital signs, rooming patients, room set up and EMR

Back Office: Phone calls, message taking, filing, charting, faxing, prescription refills, prior authorizations, correspondence with other health care professionals/facilities, and processing of result letters

Procedures: Injections, drawing blood, urine drug screens, autoclave, centrifuge, setting up for epidural//blood patch, and set up for EMG,

Miscellaneous Tasks: Stocking rooms, ordering supplies, and other duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
  • License/Certification: (Preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
  • AED Certification (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
