Position Duties


The Teacher Education Department seeks to broaden and enhance teacher education at the undergraduate and graduate levels through the hiring of a full-time visiting clinical faculty member for one academic year. Responsibilities include supervision of preservice teachers across grade levels (both elementary and secondary) during the internship year. Supervisors are also responsible for building and maintaining partnerships in local schools, including working with school administration and supporting mentor teachers. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate and graduate courses in one or more of the following areas: foundations, educational psychology, learning sciences, methods of teaching, literacy, action research.

Salary range: $58,600-$60,000 for candidates without terminal degree; $66,250-$68,000 for candidates with terminal degree

Required:

  • Master’s degree in education or related field

  • At least 5 years P-12 teaching experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment

  • Experience supervising, mentoring, and/or coaching of preservice and/or in-service teachers

Preferred:

  • Higher education teaching experience

  • Experience working in culturally and linguistically diverse school contexts

  • Experience with school-university partnerships

  • Terminal degree in education or related field

  • Valid Maryland Advanced Professional Teaching or Administrator License

Final compensation offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, job-related experience, internal equity, and alignment with organizational budget.
