Job Description
Here's What You Need
Education
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Other Graduate of an AMA approved / accredited Ultrasound Program preferred
• Associate's Degree preferred
Experience
• 1 years clinical experience in a hospital radiology preferred
Licenses and Certifications
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required And
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography Upon Hire Pref Or
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography 12 Months Req Or
• ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers upon hire preferred And
• ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers 12 Months Req
What You Will Do
Imaging Procedures, Quality and Processing
• Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to and during exam.
• Images correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
• Adjusts technical parameters to optimize image.
• Operates, cares for and maintains equipment.
Patient Care
• Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies).
• Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures.
Professional Accountability and Partnership
• Maintains ARDMS, CME credits and CPR yearly or when applicable (ARRT and CMRT if applicable).
• Performs any assignment deemed necessary by supervisor

Our four-story specialty center for women and infants features 12 labor and delivery beds, 2 C-section suites along with 6 antepartum and 24 postpartum beds. Texas Health Denton is the city's only provider of obstetrical and neonatal intensive care services and is the largest provider of obstetrical services in Denton County. The ground floor houses a breast imaging center, outpatient physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and an internal medicine residency program.
