Description:

A leader in Hawaii’s renewable energy market since 2007, Pineapple Energy, LLC dba Hawaii Energy Connection is seeking a permanent, full-time Electrical Journeyman, Hawaii Certified, to join our team.

Employees are also provided with an assigned company work truck, required tools, and training. Hawaii Energy Connection also pays Hawaii Electrical Journeyman license renewal fees.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

To successfully perform this position, the employee must be able to perform the following essential functions:

· Serve as a team leader in safety, quality workmanship, time and cost efficiency, and industry best practices.

· Collaborate with installation teams and project planners to determine appropriate methods, timelines, and execution plans for each unique system installation.

· Coordinate with local inspectors to ensure projects meet applicable code requirements and system expectations.

· Ensure the electrical scope of each installation complies with OSHA requirements, the National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable regulations, company standards, customer expectations, and construction best practices.

· Provide excellent customer service and effectively collaborate with project leaders, coworkers, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, and other stakeholders.

· Complete PV solar and battery storage installations and troubleshoot system issues to identify and resolve electrical problems.

· Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements: PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

· Must currently reside in or be returning to reside in the State of Hawaii.

· Currently hold an active Hawaii State Journeyman Electrician License, or have a Hawaii State Journeyman Electrician License pending.

· Demonstrate a professional understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and accepted electrical best practices.

· Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.

· Successfully complete the company’s standard pre-employment drug screening.

Beneficial, but Not Required:

· NABCEP certification.

· Experience with renewable energy, solar, and/or battery storage installation and service.

· Experience installing, commissioning, and testing electronic or networking equipment.

· Experience with electrical or electronic testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

· High school diploma, associate degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.

· Hawaii State Journeyman Electrician License — Active or Pending.

COMPUTER & TECHNICAL SKILLS

· Intermediate-level experience using tablets, smartphones, and personal computers.

· Intermediate-level experience using electrical testing equipment, including equipment for measuring voltage, current, resistance, continuity, and ground faults.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Safely operate company vehicles, secure loads, and travel to various job sites.

· Safely climb and work from ladders and access roofs and elevated work areas.

· Able to safely access, move about, and work in confined crawl spaces.

· Use dexterity of hands and fingers to operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, tablets, phones, and other job-related devices.

· Frequently lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.

· Conduct job-site risk assessments and identify and control potential hazards.

· Properly install and use approved anchorage systems and personal fall arrest systems (PFAS), including full-body harnesses when required.

· Perform work while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Work outdoors and in varying weather conditions as required by the job.

· Occasionally travel to neighbor islands and, when necessary, stay overnight.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

The employee may be required to assist other staff members and perform additional duties as needed to support the company’s operations, safety objectives, and customer commitments.
